Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe property is perfectly fine
We didn’t have the breakfast on this visit due to leaving very early for meeting, but the location For us was perfect, no traffic noise and the views were lovely across the valley, for us the garden in full bloom was perfect. The property owners are very friendly, we look forward to another longer visit in the future.

United KingdomJust as a personal preference I do not like shower curtains but to be fair there was plenty of space and it was set up so it did not stick to you whilst showering
The views back to the valley are amazing and the location is very pretty. Room I stayed in was in converted outbuildings and had everything you could possibly need. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was really well done with a great shower as well as a bath. Owner was really friendly and helpful and the suggested route to the cottage was good rather than trusting to the sat nav which is always a risk in rural devon

United KingdomThere was nothing that I didn’t like.
Alison and David were exceptional hosts and their attention to detail was spot on. Cleanliness and Comfort are always my top priorities and I was blown away by the welcome, warmth and enthusiasm shown by hosts who are clearly at the top of their game. Nothing was too much trouble, the room was cosy, clean and comfortable with ambient light, quality furniture, firm restful bed, a varied selection of tea, coffee and snacks, TV, hairdryer, soft towels, selection of quality toiletries- they had everything covered. The cottage is just a few minutes from the motorway and easy to find following Alison’s directions, the view from the garden is beautiful and the breakfast is exceptional. I can totally see why they have many repeat guests and I would definitely recommend - it was the perfect place to break the journey down to Cornwall.

A Tranquil Retreat - Five Stars! My partner and I recently stayed at The Brambles Bed & Breakfast, and it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. Nestled in the serene countryside, this charming B&B is a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. Hospitality: From the moment we arrived, the hosts, made us feel like cherished guests. Their warm welcome, genuine smile and eagerness to accommodate our needs set the tone for our stay. They provided excellent recommendations for local attractions and were always available to assist without being intrusive. Accommodations: Our room was beautifully decorated, immaculately clean, and incredibly comfortable. The bed was a dream to sleep in, with soft linens and ample pillows. The attention to detail was evident in the thoughtful touches, such as a selection of teas and coffees, and complimentary toiletries. Amenities: The Brambles offers a range of amenities and the garden was lovely. The free Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, allowing us to stay connected with ease. Breakfast: Breakfast was a highlight of our stay. We were treated to a delicious spread that included freshly baked pastries, seasonal fruits, and a variety of hot dishes made to order. The ingredients were locally sourced, and the quality was evident in every bite. Location: The B&B is ideally located for exploring the surrounding area. We appreciated the peacefulness of the countryside, yet it was just a short drive to charming Tiverton

United KingdomThe room was lovely and clean and had everything we needed. Alison even bought us fresh milk instead of the usual sachets of milk. Plenty of choice for breakfast from continental to the good Devon fry up. The local pub had plenty of choice for an evening meal and we could have walked to it had it not been raining. We are used to driving through country lanes in Cornwall so we weren’t bothered by the narrow lane to get to the cottage. Alison sent us very good instructions for getting to the property.

United KingdomThere was nothing at all wrong with Brambles. My only negative comment about our whole trip was about the last part of the road leading out of Uplowman. It is little more than a badly maintained country lane. That needs a fair bit of attention when driving, to avoid the axle-breaking potholes.
The owners were so accommodating, it seemed that nothing was too much trouble. The bed was extremely comfortable and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Before our journey, we were sent an email with very clear and detailed directions of how to get there from J27 on the M5, avoiding a less than favourable route that Satnav would have taken us.
