I had not looked properly at the information and thought the hotel was closer to the conference center we were at daily, so walking there was not possible. Fortunately the bus system is very good, it would be nice if it ran a bit later though. There was not very many places to set things in the bathroom or in drawers

The view from our room, and the helpfulness of the staff.

It’s not in the city itself, so might be a bit of a hassle if you want to step out into the city.

One stop shop for food and accommodation if this is what is needed. Great staff.

    No lift..

If you are looking for a good accommodation away from the buzz of the city and have limited budget this is the place to go to although location is 30mins away from the central part of Edinburgh where most of the attractions are however location of the hotel is still very accessible, there are buses which passes by near the doorstep of the hotel, while there is also a 5 minutes walk options that you can take for a better multiple buses options. Indeed I would recommend this place looking for a comfortable place to stay. Unfortunately, there is no lift, thus, if you are a female solo traveler with heavy baggage can be a challenging. Also, receptionists are very accommodating and helpful and in fact upon request they have allowed to extend for an hour the check out time at a Free of Cost , depending on availability check out can be extended for an hour further at a cost.

Water pressure in the shower and sink were poor until we found an "unknown" switch in the wardrobe! Turned out this switched on a water pump hidden behind boxing but we didn't discover this until leaving. Slight mix up with evening meal order but we saw the funny side and the food was good,

Upgrade to room and we loved the space and views. Quality of food was good and the portions a nice size; not full after the meal but not still hungry either. Lovely big bed which was very comfortable.

Stayed 6 nights, bed was good. But by the end of my stay, I noticed the bed was a little soft (but that is personal preference)

The staff were friendly and helpful, the location was great, 30sec walk to the bus stop and the bus takes you right into the hustle and brussel about 25min bus ride.room is spacious and loved the king bed with tv inside.

I stayed in this hotel about 50 years ago when my family first moved to Edinburgh. My nephews were staying overnight - I popped up to the room. A little tired but very comfortable and a very good price. Very handy for bus stop into Edinburgh plus carpark. Friendly bar and staff.

Food options were very basic. Nothing to write home about. We wanted to stay in and have a cosy dinner, warm and dry from the horrendous weather but there was little on the menu that wasn't pub food, so we went to a lovely Italian place close by. Breakfast too was nothing special. Edinburgh has a great food culture but sadly this hotel doesn't live up to it.

Great location, lovely old hotel with lots of character, easy transport links. Good value for money and the room was very comfortable.
