Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIf you have a car like I did, parking isn't included but I always found parking along Knutsford Dr.
Mary is the sweetest most accommodating lady you'll ever meet!! The breakfast was amazing!! The room was very cozy and if you like dogs, she's got a few spaniels that are just full of love!! I recommend staying at the Brackenberry! Mary is awesome and well known and loved in the area!

GermanyOur stay was unfortunately anything but pleasant. The room was small, the tiny bed ( I’m 1.88 metres, I could barely stretch out in the small, narrow bed) squeezed into a tiny corner, and the entire decor looked extremely dated and run down. The furniture had obviously seen better days and everything looked very worn. Particularly unpleasant was the smell of mothballs that spread throughout the room, accompanied by a general musty odour that made the stay even more difficult. All in all, we absolutely cannot recommend this place, unless you can get something out of this „charm“

CanadaMary is an absolute delight! We arrived on a late flight from London and picked up a rental car to make our way there. Mary was more than accommodating with our arrival time and was ready and waiting with offers of tea upon our arrival. I've never been to Ireland before and, being Canadian, was feeling a little leery about the driving on the other side of the road, etc. Mary and her warm welcome brought my anxiety down several notches. Her house is a true Irish gem. You really feel you've arrived in Ireland here! It's charming and old, with all the creaks and squeaks of a loved and lived in home. I had a fantastic sleep in our bed and woke up to hot coffee and a delicious breakfast downstairs, as well as a chat with Mary and another guest. She had lots of great recommendations for our time there and we took her advice on what to see and do. Including the recommendation that we stop in Cushendun for a pub lunch at Mary McBride's Bar. We did, and it was fabulous. Thanks again for your warm, Irish welcome, Mary. Will absolutely recommend your place to visitors!

United KingdomWe were given a room at the top of the house which was damp and mouldy very poor sleepless night. Awkward bed placement shoved up against a damp wall, had to clambour over my daughter to get off the bed. The shared bathroom facilities with the residents of 4/5 other rooms was not expected. This was not a pleasant stay for us at all.
Mary was very friendly and very kind.

SpainThe information regarding the room and they house was not right. The rooms offered doesn’t have private bathroom as it is stated. There is one bathroom to be shared by several rooms. Furthermore, the house doesn’t have parking facilities as announced in the description. I encourage the owner to publish the real services the house has.
Mary the hostess was kind with me.

United KingdomI booked this for my parents who were treated rudely by the owner Mary. Her place from the outside is run down, The place stank so much that they couldn't even make it past talking to Mary, who they only saw after 2nd attempt of checking in. A horrible way to treat people. After informing booking.com that day I still haven't had feedback. She wouldn't cancel but told them they had not arrived. Lying. How you'd expect anyone to stay and pay, I have no idea

IrelandIf you are looking for a very modern premises with very practical minimal plain decoration than this mightn't be the place for you. However, I loved the decoration and found it full of character. It was near where I needed to be but bear in mind, it is a little outside of the city, A taxi is only 10 minutes and the area is serviced be good bus routes, so nothing major.
From the moment I was greeted at the door, Mary was the perfect hostess. I honestly felt like I was home! She served me a lovely cup of coffee on a tray in my room and gave me all the information I need about the location, taxis etc. The house itself is a beautiful quirky old Victorian house, situated on a lovely street with period furniture, antique Mirrors and chandeliers and a really interesting library filled with books in the dining room. For breakfast the following morning, Mary cooked fresh pancakes and there were homemade scones, pastries, bread, yogurts, jams etc and a large selection of teas or generous pourings of coffee. The best part was you could hear the chickens squabbling outside the window as you ate which I found very entertaining :) You can tell that the host loves welcoming people and puts her all into greeting them-she is so warm and friendly (As Belfast people tend to be) Mary, thank you for welcoming me into your home and I'm already planning my return.
