Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomRoom temperature could only be regulated by opening the window which might be an issue in summer - the room overlooked a busy road. Lighting not really adequate for reading.
Room was clean and everything worked (the TV had a good choice of channels). Staff were obliging and the reception desk was always manned, Bus route to Hanley (No 4) passed the front door. Wetherspoons within 5 mins walk.

United KingdomThe bed. It was so soft, me and my partner kept rolling into the middle together. I woke up with backache as this bed was just not firm at all. Also didn't like the car park light that shone right into our room, the curtains are not black out curtains. The room was very bright all night. This is not the hotels fault, but these rooms across the way are not sound proof at all. Was very noisey at times. At 5 in the morning someone who was parked right outside our room, decided to start their van up and let it run for over 10 minutes while they were in and out of building. They kept slamming their van door over and over as they filled their van up with their gear from their room. I would suggest staying in the main hotel when staying here to get a better night's sleep.
We stayed in the rooms across the car park from the hotel on the ground floor this time. Room was nice, clean and everything you'd need for a night. Staff are always lovely here.

United KingdomInitially we got room no. 2. Bathroom door wouldn't stay shut. Shower pressure very poor and water luke warm even on full heat setting. Shower was very difficult to turn off. Bed was uncomfortable with a dip in the middle of the mattress. Only 2 plug sockets and they were no where near the mirror. Could not plug in kettle when watching TV due to positions of the plugs. In both rooms, the bathroom towel rails were on the other side of the very spacious bathroom, so unless you placed towels on the floor (unhygienic) when having a shower, you had to walk 10 feet across a wet floor to get them - not ideal and very slippery. Neither bathrooms had safety grab rails to get out of the shower which made it dangerous too. Room 2 had the glass shower door siliconed in place so you can't move it, meaning you couldn't turn the shower on without getting a blast of cold water on you. Towel rail wasn't wired up. No restaurant menu in the room. Light cord was so high up I almost couldn't reach it. Light above the toilet flickered like a strobe light some times when switched on. There was an anti slip mat in room 2 but not in room 5 - would have been helpful to have this in room 5 as neither bathrooms had safety grab rails. Pictures are of room number 2 showing the poor plug locations, poor placement of towel rail, fixed glass shower door and the high up bathroom light cord.
Good location. Excellent customer service - receptionist Kerry was brilliant at sorting out our room issues and swapped us on day 2 from room 2 to room 5. Top marks to Kerry, thank you! Zero noise from within the hotel. Good wifi. Clean room and bathroom. Excellent TV channels. VERY spacious rooms and bathrooms! Curtains were thick and provided good black out from the outside lights. Parking was good. Room 5 had an excellent shower - temp and pressure, lots of plug sockets, comfortable bed, all lights working well. Room 2 was very substandard - see below. Would be happy to stay here again but not in room 2. Did not use the restaurant, but the menu downstairs did look appetising and there was a really good variety of food on offer.

United KingdomTV was quite small for the size of the room. The door didn't lock from the inside, so anyone with a master key could get in without realising you were inside. There was no do not disturb sign to put on the door to prevent this from happening. Cars in the car park were parking randomly as the lines faded and had no signage. The light fixture didn't look safe. There was plaster falling out the wall behind it and a visible crack in the wall.
Location was good to get to where I needed. On site parking. Bed was comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms cleaned/towels replaced daily if required.

United Kingdomthe only downside was the bathroom in our room (16) could probably do with a bit of modernisation as there were holes in the bath side.
Stayed here for an event close by, the room was very big, the bed was very comfy and staff were very helpful, overall the room was fine for the price paid, I probably would stay here again if at another event.
