The room doors are a tight fit so closing them unfortunately created quite a loud bang in the corridor no matter how quiet I tried to be.

Single room was a good size, competitive pricing, very polite and courteous staff.

Pleasant stay on the whole. Breakfast o.k.

    • Stayed 3 nights

There was hair blocking my bath plug, which I asked to get removed and someone saw to it straight away. There was a visit by the police banging on the door next to me at midnight which was scary and disruptive, although I understand it was a one-off, it was quite a traumatic experience as I didn't know the circumstances. (The Police could've been more considerate to the rest of the corridor of guests in my opinion!) The hotel was so hot! I mean boiling in my room, and along all the corridors it was unbearable. Had to turn radiators off.

Lovely quiet and comfortable single room situated at the back of the hotel so I wasn't disturbed by rowdy bars and lively night life at the front of the hotel.

Hotel is a good hotel with good facilities but not enough parking and concerned with how the fire alarm was managed

No parking available on the day and had to pay for parking on one of the roads near the hotel. There was also a fire alarm at approximately 7-30 am on 18th Feb, my wife and I evacuated the hotel on hearing the alarm by following the green fire escape signs and we were concerned when there was only one other couple who had evacuated, there was no register and the reception staff explained that it was due to burnt toast in the dining room when we reentered the building when the alarm stopped sounding, there didn’t seem to be any fire marshals / staff outside of the building

Location was good, room was ok and check in staff very good

It was very stuffy, the heating was on so high within the hotel it took your breath away. Unfortunately, we were woken up early by the fire alarm going off at 7am because of the toaster in the restaurant. Can't be helped, but once the alarm was turned up we had no idea what had happened until another guest informed us.

The room was comfortable once all the windows were opened and it cooled down

The suite we stayed in had damp on the walls and the carpet was outdated and stained which was very disappointing considering the room is priced at £192 full price (we did get it at a discount and paid £155)

I have stayed there a couple of times before and it’s the same complaint it’s the grubby bathroom it has been cleaned but it’s so old and worn the windows has cracked and dirty paintwork and the bath panel was rotten at bottom because every time you shower the water runs down panel and so it is rotten we stayed this time in 127 beds were comfortable and a lovely sized room nice amount of tea/cofee/drinking chocolate/ biscuits and quite good quality apart from bathroom which is very poor but really lovely reception staff but restaurant staff were not around we had to go out round corner Wednesday morning for coffee as member of restaurant staff said no one to make coffee sorry so we have never eaten in the Hotel ever so don’t know what food is like but l will go back as it’s in such a good location for me as my daughter is just 2 streets back .

Only real issue was had to hold toilet seat up being a man as it kept falling down?? Room 226 And planned a lay in due to late check out off 11am but ruined by house cleaning teams early morning laughing and joking in corridor and not discreetly either so woke up us around 8-8-30 am so put a damper on the stay with it being valentine's day and my birthday

Rooms need an update. The cast iron radiator turns on at 3am, the rooms ended up to warm and in my half sleep trying to get out the covers i manged to knock my leg off the very hot radiator, No injury but could be dangerous if kids in the bed (maybe a radiator cover or something) it also made a really loud clunking noise when the hearing was turning on but old style plumbing that can't be helped.

Rooms were clean & quiet and the staff in particular were lovely! The water pressure in the shower was phenomenal!! I love a good shower!

The furniture in the room is a little bit cheap and dated. When we arrived our room was absolutely roasting, but we were able to turn the radiator off which was fine. We were on the 2nd floor. We had friends staying on the ground floor and the first floor and they both said that their room were freezing. So perhaps that could be something to look into.

Room was spacious and comfortable. The shower was nice and powerful. Despite facing out on to the main road, it was quiet. Breakfast was nice. All staff were very pleasant and helpful.

The car park is small, when I went to get something from my car at about 7pm is was totally blocked in (luckily I didn't need to move it otherwise it would have been a nightmare). It was a tight squeeze to get out in the morning but was at least possible. My room was right next to the stairwell and there were people coming and going until 3am and then it started again at 5am so very noisy & hard to sleep especially as there was a very creaky / noisy floorboard straight outside.

Friendly staff Spacious room with comfortable bed Super powerful shower

The hotel was very warm when we arrived but we turned our radiator off and it was a lot better it cooled down quickly. We don't like a warm bedroom.
