No heating in the room at night - we did complain about this but it still it was not rectified

We did have a problem on our second night which I have not encountered before. Guests in the next door room were really noisy in the late afternoon (we went out after that) and then from 4.30am. I am not that fussed about noise (I live in a flat under a part-time DJ and block it out!) but there was very loud music and one man seemed to be talking into a mike, with people going in and out of the room all the time. It isn't the hotel's fault but I noticed another comment about noisy guests and just wanted to alert the hotel in case this becomes a regular pattern.

I've stayed here before and love the very central location in Pontypridd, the glamorous and unusually designed rooms and the attention to detail. I usually stay in the White Rooms on top floor. They are well equipped with good tea & coffee tray, an iron and ironing board, TV that works well, exceptionally comfortable bed and bedding and a nice big bathroom. Plenty of space too. These top floor options are normally quiet rooms, as they are away from the noise of bar and function rooms and the streets of Pontypridd. The bar and restaurant is great and the staff are lovely.

The property closes and a night porter takes over. We stood outside banging the door and ringing the phone for 40 minutes. There didn’t seem to be any rush to let us in and no answer on the phone. Would be useful to have a night porter number you ring to be let in rather than causing so much noise and disturbing other guests/neighbours. Our bed was comfy and overall generally clean. The previous guest had clearly been smoking in the room as there was lots of ash on the skirting below the window ledge. Could be worth putting a restrictor on the window to prevent it being opened fully.

The room was quite hot and I was unable to open the windows. The bathroom basin is very small so you have to be careful that the water doesn't splash everywhere.

The hotel is very well situated, right in the middle of Pontypridd and close to public transport. I have stayed here several times and it has always been comfortable, and the staff always kind. The rooms are nicely furnished. The bar is convenient for a drink, afternoon tea or breakfast. Though sometimes things can feel a little disorganised, there is a cosy, quirky charm to this hotel.

The shower was a straight up shower, no hand shower Rose, There was no shower cap so we couldn’t use it. it’s comfortable to use only if you want a hair wash.

The bath in the bathroom was very nice, clean and comfortable.

Area a tad run down like most towns at the moment. Difficult to locate anywhere due to total lack of street signs! No information in the room to advise on food availability, opening times, telephone in room but no contact numbers- poor communication which might enable additional sales for their on site restaurant/bar.

Superb big room almost a suite. Impressive bathroom with large illuminated around bath + separate shower. Ultra clean. Right in centre of Pontypridd. milk, coffee biscuits tea cup/saucer AND teapot! Hairdryer with area seating with mirror and light, really helpful. Iron and pull up ironing board. Large sofa and super comfy king bed . Smart TV. Which confused this technophobe dinosaur but thanks to a very kind and helpful member of staff named Sophie who came to my rescue I was able to navigate my way through! Superb indoor Market within a few metres. Several areas designated to different types of sales. Fresh food market, DIY, sports, jewellery, baby clothing, bakeries, and the biggest section of books I've seen outside of an actual library!!! Plenty of eateries with various styles ie vegetarian, Thai, coffee shops but would highly recommend Soshias' - small but friendly and wonderful service plus beautifully cooked food very reasonably priced.

Room 1 is a problem. The squeaky lift hasn't been fixed (and you hear it all night in Room 1), and one of the blinds needs to be fitted properly. The property needs some investment.

A good central location with a convenient restaurant and bar. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Because you are in the town centre you do get s bit of noise from the street. The binmen at 5.00 am were dutiful but irritating!
