Being at the top of the building a lot of stairs . Breakfast was plentiful however cooked breakfast was a bit greasy for me. Parking poor we had to park along the road added extra cost onto night away.

Some of the windows in our bedroom wouldn’t shut , they had security wires but as we were on top floor would preferred it would have clicked and stayed closed , they really old windows as is the building

The staff were very friendly & helpful ! Nice central location & easy to find & park. Breakfast was really tasty and nice quality ingredients. Dog friendly is a real plus ! Had a fab time

Unfortunately there was a nasty smell of drains in the lovely looking snug, which could use some attention. The heating was cold when we went to bed & not on for long first thing in the morning.

Beautiful building right in the town with parking on site. Beds were comfortable and the hot water in the bathroom was immediate & shower was great. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

Could of done with a small chair in room to put coats on or hook on back of door. Same in bathroom nowhere to hang clothes, or towels There was a hairdryer in the room which was great but there was no mirror near the socket so I couldn't style my hair

The car park was very tight to get in and out of.

The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. We had an evening meal there which was delicious. The bar had a lovely cosy atmosphere, with friendly customers that spoke to us!. we stayed in the family suite which had a separate twin room for our kids. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a good choice of drinks and complimentary biscuits.

There is limited parking on site and the Wi-Fi is patchy.

The Black Lion is conveniently located in the centre of Richmond, the rooms are very comfortable.

Bed was uncomfortable, on investigation the mattress topper had worked it’s way across the bed which meant there was a ridge on on side, better once we had straightened it. However probably needs a better fitting one as the age and construction of a very old but lovely building means it slopes a little. So probably cheaper to sort the bed.

Accommodation a bit tired . Parking is an issue . The car park is small , access not easy and mainly taken by staff . 2hr limit disc parking in during daytime nearby not ideal even if you can find a space . Staff were helpful but some guidance re parking prior to arrival would be useful.

Nothing to dislike in my opinion

We've stayed at the Black Lion previously and always loved it. The room was clean, comfortable, there was tea, coffee, bottled water everything we could need. The food was delicious on the evening and the breakfast was beautifully cooked on the morning alongside a selection of cereals, yogurts and fruit juices. No complaints what so ever 😊
