Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAll fine.
Perfect location in the centre of Inverness with parking close by and a short walk to bus and train stations. The (single) room was small but comfortable and clean with an en-suite shower room and tea / coffee making facilities. Breakfast is not included but there are plenty good cafes nearby. The bar is excellent with a great selection of beers from the local Black Isle Brewery and the freshly made pizzas are recommended. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the place has a lively, friendly vibe. Also dog friendly which is a bonus.

Great place for the night. Close to the train station. Bar right downstairs so no need to worry about getting to your hotel after a couple of drinks.

United KingdomThe heating was off when I arrived and I didn't notice the heater, concealed behind an armchair until the next morning.
I asked for a quiet room and my wish was fulfilled. I was also upgraded to a double room.

United KingdomNothing to dislike really. Just the fixtures could be fixed like taps that were leaky. Also suggestion, not a reviewz to have a common room with refrigerator, oven and water cooler
Really liked the staff. Very proactive in figuring things out. Super quick check-in and check out.

United KingdomThe staff were really friendly and the pizza from the bar was awesome. The local area was quite busy with plenty of places to eat and drink a short walk from the hotel which i liked. The bed was a bunk bed which was fairly comfy to my surprise. Ample choice of drinks from the bar.

CanadaThe room seemed pricey for what we got. There was no chair nor table although there was plenty of space. Some of the other rooms had a table and chairs. Sitting on a bunk bed is not particularly comfortable.
The location is excellent. The rooms are above the Black Isle Bar in downtown Inverness, close to the bus and train stations. Our room looked out over the street and although we heard a bit of street noise, we did not get any bar noise. The room was newly renovated and had a double/single bunk bed. The bedding and pillows were good. Kettle, coffee and milk were provided (love this!)

United KingdomRather basic "hostel" style at small hotel prices. No problems other than having the narrowest toilet paper I have ever seen! I have seen bus tickets that are wider and as toilet paper it's really not fit for purpose!
Excellent location in the centre of town and very close to the train station. The pub and rooms have a basic, minimalist style but are perfectly adequate. The room was extremely clean and the bed - despite being a timber-framed bunk bed - was surprisingly comfortable. Good shower.

United StatesThe only negatives were: 2. no fan in the room we could plug in for the one warmer evening we had… had all three nights forecast been warm we would have went to buy one. 2. There was noise in the street 2 out of 3 nights after the restaurant closed from a group of fellas who just weren’t ready to go home. Our windows faced the street out front and we were treated to them singing songs together for a couple hours after closing time. We just weren’t expecting that since we didn’t have to deal with noise from the restaurant/bar. But, it was the weekend. Likely this wouldn’t be the case on weeknights. We should’ve brought earplugs with us from home but failed to. That would’ve been an easy fix.
This is the perfect location in downtown Inverness city center and the restaurant/pub food on site was great! Loved their wood fired pizza! We loved that it was near other restaurants of all kinds, shopping, grocery store and pharmacy. A great option for secure parking was a mere 5 minute walk away out less, not to mention the bus station as well so if you aren’t renting a car it’s super easy to get around. The room/en-suite bathroom was very clean and the bed was comfy with plenty of outlets. We loved that there was a key card operated door to enter the side of the building where the stairs to the rooms were so you didn’t have to enter through the restaurant. And even though these stairs also lead to the upstairs outdoor beer garden there was an additional secure key card operated door to the actual hallways with rooms. We felt very safe. We didn’t really hear any noise to speak of from the restaurant/garden area at all which was surprising for staying in rooms within the same building.

United KingdomThere is absolutely no parking available at the hotel/bar. There is a multi-story (Rose Street) about 5 minutes walk away! So travel light or have wheeled luggage!
