Had to walk through where the bins were to get to our room once pub was closed. Not ideal to be fair.

Very private away from the pub itself

Nothing really. No breakfast available during the week, but found a great place nearby.

Lovely warm welcome, clean, quiet, and dog friendly in a beautiful location. Excellent food.

Although it wasn't an issue, the bathroom was a bit basic compared to the room. It could have been a tad cleaner. I was short-changed on my breakfast and service could have been slightly accelerated. A cleanliness issue with a glass, which was rectified. The breakfast was decent, regardless.

The pub was lovely, as was the room itself. I had a comfortable night's sleep, although my mate was woken a few times by noisy neighbours. I liked the old world nature of the pub / room.

Very noisy bar with children running about in the evening, put us off a little but we are old school and prefer pubs in the evening to be for adults

Only one bedside lamp and the bulb wasn't working. Checked in another socket - definitely the bulb. We were already changed, and too tired to go down to reception to report it. For a family room, it should have had two bedside lamps at least, though very few sockets would have been available to plug another one in... Also, there was no glass in the bathroom for toothpaste/toothbrushes etc and no shelf/surface to put any toiletries on. The cabinet on the wall above the basin did have three narrow shelves, but the space between them wasn't deep enough to put most of our bottles etc on, so unusable really. Oh, and the radiator was on full until quite late - we were too hot but couldn't manage to turn it off...

Clean and comfortable. Good shower. Tea and coffee facilities as you'd expect.

The location was very isolating however if you have everything you need that shouldn’t be a problem. The shower was temperamental and kept going between hot and cold. Other than this it was brilliant.

It’s a quiet and comfortable place. Friendly staff. Very friendly customers there aswell. It is a very good environment to be in. The hotel is separate from the pub so it minimalises any noise pollution.

Could hear bottles clinking a lot during the night. Some rowdy men woke me up once. Bed was comfortable. Shower was nice and hot too. I did have to fix the pump on the shower gel though. Tea didn’t taste right, think it’s the water but not sure. Got one from the pub instead.

Loved the location - the car park is massive. Pet friendly. Being in a pub means finding food is very easy. Staff were lovely too. Can use the back gate when pub is shut. Biscuits were lovely.

The only drawback for us was the noise from the room next door. I'm not sure they were aware we could her every word if their tv till 1.30 am

The staff were about to close the pub as it was ten to 11 but cheerfully stayed on to book us in after a dreadful journey to get there . Lovely women showed us to our room and ws most helpful. Very old building and very beautiful. Beds really comfortable..massive shower. Plenty of tea and coffee and irong board and massive TV.

Nothing really to dislike that would make me not want to stay there again. The building is lovely and oldy worldy. A small tickle up decor wise to the bathrooms would be my only suggestion as they are a little dated. Other than that all is ok

Its in an excellant location, close to the West Pennine Moors. Atmosphere has a lovely friendly local village feel. Plenty of parking and food fantastic. Victoria, pub manager was welcoming and even waited up late for us to arrive last year when we travelled up from London in the evening. We explained we had been caught in traffic and she was lovely about it. Nik even handed out yellow tulips to ladies on Mothers Day. This was the purpose of our visit. To spend Mothers day with my son who lives in Bolton.

Room needed a good vacuuming and bathroom floor could have been a bit cleaner. A little on the expensive side as could get breakfast included for a similar rice in other establishments. Overall good homely place, with no frills.

Pleasant staff, part of the pub with good food
