Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing we didn't like, everything was fantastic, we would highly recommend the stay
From the moment we arrived, our host Renny was so helpful and attentive about everything! The house was spotlessly clean and all amenities from dishwasher tablets , to shower gels and hand wash was covered! It really was a home from home! Away from all the hustle and bustle of the sea front but a stones throw away from all the restaurants, shops and bars! Right near the train station too! Great parking space, enough for 2 cars included in the reasonably priced stay! Nice neighbours, lovely little terrace garden to enjoy a quiet breakfast! Comfy beds and the 2 bathrooms come in handy! Nice touch to arrive to fresh flowers and milk to make a cuppa! Little touches go along way...thankyou Renny , we will certainly be booking to stay at one of your properties again soon

United KingdomNothing - everything was fine.
Renny our host was fantastic, unfortunately I wasn’t able to go on our trip, but he was sympathetic and swiftly responded with an alternative plan of action. My friends who did stay stated that it was a gorgeous place, good parking facilities and everything was within walking distance.

United KingdomNice location, clean rooms, soft beds and perfect service! We go on holiday to Brighton for a few comfortable days. It is the right distance from the beach, the train station and the city centre. It offers a kitchen to cook and enjoy a meal with friends.

Hong KongThe plates in the kitchen were found very dirty when we arrived. We have reported this to the property manager but those were probably left by other guests but not properly washed up by the housekeeper. There were ants, probably from the garden, though we haven't left any food uncovered in the house. The stairs are rather steep and narrow. If you have very small kids, you may need to pay special attention. The headroom of the attic is probably not suitable for adults.
The property manager, Renny, is very helpful and responsive. He gave very clear instructions for getting the keys and he answered our queries in a very quick and informative manner. His responses to our questions in WhatsApp were almost instant. We asked for a printer and a desk lamp during our stay and he brought all these to us very quickly. We also reported to him that some light bulbs were not working and he brought new ones for replacement very quickly. He is the most responsive property manager I have so far encountered. The location of the property is very good. The Churchill Square, the Brighton railway station, the beach and many shops and stores are within walking distance. We could even enjoy jogging by the seaside in the morning in about 10-15 minutes. Although it is near to the city centre, the property is quiet and safe as it is not located in the main road. We had friends come by to visit us and they could just park outside the property (the accommodation has parking space). The property has many sockets in the attic, working desk, dining room,.... which is very convenient for using electronic devices. We had experience in other accommodation that there was one or two sockets and in the end, all family members had to compete for charging their phones, batteries, notebook, cameras,...etc.

United KingdomWe did find people dealing & taking drugs further up the road (near the school). It wasn't obvious though, and they didn't bother us when we walked past. We just avoided walking that way after dark.
Lovely, quirky cottage situated a 5 minute walk from The Lanes. The.cottage has everything you need - towels, hair dryers, all cooking appliances, two bathrooms, smart TVs, WiFi etc. Also very good was the fact that there was washing up liquid, dishwater tablets, shower gel etc. Plenty of space for my family of 3.(could have been more). Lovely little garden to sit in.

New ZealandBeing at the top end of town it is a bit of a walk to the seafront and the area is quite hilly. The rooms are a good size but you do have to watch the stairs and there is not much head room in the attic
Excellent Family Stay. We stayed here over Christmas to meet up as a family and the property was a very good choice. The house is warm and cosy, plenty of entertainment choices and good clean modern kitchen and bathrooms (including a bath). Parking was a bonus. Plenty of shops nearby and handy for most central attractions. Very good for the train station and bus links. Good communication and support from host.
