Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomBest Western Royal Hotel. Complaint Good morning: my name is Peter Howden, I resided in your hotel from 31 July/3rd August, room199. The accommodation was comfortable, the room service was very good, your pleasant personnel were more than courteous at all times…however I must complain and expect reimbursement from the original bill due to the following, Having requested for early morning call at 04.30 on 3rd of August, plus a taxi at 05.30(your company would pay as agreed in our contract.) Unfortunately, on just after midnight on 1st August the phone rang, I rose, went down to reception, no one was there, used white phone provided on the desk and explained. Before breakfast informed the clerk who apologised which I accepted while asking to check everything for the 3rd s departing. Inappropriately and ominously the phone rang of the 3rd morning 5 minutes after midnight. Phoned the reception and apology was given but was assured the right call and the taxi would be on time…but I was truly unsure this would be the case. I had taken this trip just after my wife had died and to meet members of my family who were unable to be at her funeral. By my own means I stayed awake to ensure I would be ready to leave. The phone did ring at 04.30. and the taxi did arrive…but I required to pay the taxi driver £26(including gratuity ) which meant your company did not live up to our contract.
