Unfortunately the hotel was hosting a teenage "prom dance" the evening we stayed. This took place right in the courtyard below our window and kept us awake. The music stopped fairly early (11pm) but people did not disperse immediately. To be clear there was no bad behaviour at all but prior notification and the opportunity to change rooms to the back of the hotel would have been appreciated.

Almost everything about the hotel was good. Excellent location for the town centre and nice rooms We didn't eat in the hotel but there is a nice courtyard for drinks. Have stayed here previously and would recommend to others.

As an old hotel, some of the decor was a little dated

The hotel is an old coaching Inn, and as such is characterful, The room was very large, and the bathroom and shower was was well appointed. Food was good with breakfast being very nice

Very limited choice for cold buffet at breakfast. One bowl of cut fruit which was unappetising. No bananas, apples etc. The cereal was poor quality - muesli was like sawdust. The coffee was awful . I made a cup in the room before going down to breakfast as I couldn’t drink the coffee in the restaurant. The hot buffet however was very good. Our room on the main road was very noisy. There seemed to be a lot of cars over revving and acceleration outside .

The room was very well equipped - iron and ironing board, fan, heater, hospitality tray and cafetière. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The courtyard was beautiful, a lovely place to enjoy a drink . Very comfortable bed .

The room was dark and very tired which was a shame as we saw other twins which were bright and airy. Bath was cracked plus tiles, water in shower was sparadic and shower head and hose needed replacing. Breakfast was good but would be great if tea or coffee was served at table and plates cleared when finished with!. The tea bags tasted old and stale. The simple easy things would make this Hotel amazing. There was three waiters who could handle this easy.

It’s a beautiful 13th Century Hotel in a perfect location, with most of the staff doing their best. The courtyard was lovely and young lad at the reception was great and very helpful

Staff are ok but not overly friendly. The main bar closed at 10pm and we were asked to move to the main lobby. The beer taps were shut off and only bottled beer was served by a reluctant member of staff. Breakfast was mediocre and self service.

Historic building in the heart of the city.

Our room was a bit noisy, as the high-decibel waste pick-up in the mornings took place right below our window...

The location is very convenient - right in the city center - so even more a plus that it has parking facilities! The charme of this lovely 6- or 700 yrs old building with its labyrinthine stairways and corridors is engaging, but might make you curse an excess of baggage in need to be hauled about - but then that´s part of the fun...! A drink or snack in the beautiful courtyard absolutely makes up for the effort. A nice bar and the good food in the friendly restaurant add to a pleasant experience.

The property is stunning, with authentic features & a pleasant atmosphere. For me, the best thing about my stay was the friendly & hard-working staff. I had an issue with my room, which was mechanical. The young men on the evening shift were faced with a challenging situation & handled the situation in a focused & conscientious manner.

It felt very unloved and tired. Every room had tired patches, the bedroom was dated and the bathroom needed more than stickers on the tiles but needed fresh sealant around the bath for starters. The dining room was very tired and dusty with lots of dents and knocks in the wood and plaster. The breakfast was basic, nothing felt like it had any finesse to it. When I asked a staff member if the toaster was switched on I was just greeted with, oh it’s always going wrong, management won’t replace it. I would have liked to have known a wedding was booked, that would have impacted my decision to stay as we were not free to use the communal areas without feeling like we were intruding on the wedding.

I always wanted to stay in this property, having lived in Salisbury for years previously. I was always fascinated by the age and character of the property. I was excited to finally get to stay and I thought it would be quite luxurious given the price.

Traveling for work, I arrived late on a Sunday evening with a lot to prepare for the next morning so did not have time to go out to eat. Understandably, there was no room service or hotel restaurant open given the day. I had hoped there would be a snack (even peanuts or biscuit) with kettle and tea bags in room, but no. Luckily, I had leftover crisps and juice in my luggage for dinner. I would have also appreciated more protein options for the buffet at breakfast and some soap for the sink in my bathroom.

The location was easy to find and the staff were very helpful in letting me use their printer and giving me directions around Salisbury. The bedroom was very comfortable.
