Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing - everything was great!
Everything. Jackie and Iain were such lovely, friendly hosts with great local suggestions - thank you so much for a great stay. We loved our room - it was lovely to wake up with such a great view of the mountains and look down at the back garden and it was a great size for the price. The bed was really comfy, we slept great and the room was spotlessly clean with a good tea and coffee selection and biscuits. The toiletries in the bathroom - shampoo/body wash and conditioner were lovely too. Breakfast was delicious with a choice of cereals, yogurt and fruit as well as the cooked breakfast. We loved all the cool and quirky wee things about the garden - always something different to spot! The whole B&B is full of lovely wee touches. The B&B is in a great location just a short walk from the Folk Museum in a quiet bit off the main street. There are places to have lunch and dinner within walking distance (in Glencoe and Ballachulish). The added bonus to everything was the two really friendly cats, Smokey and Tinky - so sweet! :) We'll definitely be back!

United States of AmericaThere was nothing objectively bad. If I had to say something, the house rules (where exactly to take off your shoes, set down luggage, when you can take showers, not after 10pm, etc.) were a little more rigid than other B&Bs we stayed at.
Great breakfast and comfortable amenities. The host is very passionate about local hiking offerings and ultimately helped steer us to some great options. The cats were very cute and friendly, which I loved.

BelgiumThere is a thin line between being helpfull and being patronizing. We felt the balance was strongly tending to the second. Providing a do and don’t manual to your guests is not done. Neither forcing to book in 5 restaurants (and pushing to know which one we had booked) => to get a commission? The no booking, no dinner arguement the owners told us was absolute nonsense. We were told ‘not to open the shower faucet too much ‘as water pressure was so high’, which was ridiculous as well. The owners wantee the old newspapers back we got from them, which we put in our walking boots in order to let them dry. We didn’t like the atmosphere hanging around our stay. Really sorry to give such a bad FB
it was a clean and nice room

AustraliaThe rules on arrival were a bit over the top. We felt awkward and afraid to make a mistake like banging a door, forgetting to remove shoes, be late for breakfast.
Breakfast was fine. Time was strict. During a chat with other guests we were interrupted and reminded of check out time, so we should get moving, it would have been more comfortable to allow us, adults to abide by the rules which were made very clear on arrival.

United KingdomI didn’t like the spooky decor in the garden. I didn’t like how intense the owners were. I didn’t feel like I could fully relax (mentally, not physically) there unfortunately.

United KingdomThe weather was pretty awful, so came back everyday wet through. I was told that I wasnt allowed to take my wet clothes into my room. Fair enough I had to leave my boots. I was asked to give them my coat, trousers and even my backpack. This was not ideal as everything I needed was in it and had to empty it everyday. The next day I was eating in the dining room, you weren't allowed to eat in your room. I had left some bits on the radiator to dry. Iain said don't put anything on the radiator. A bit of coincidence that ne knew. He must have been in there. Everyday from then on, he said give me everything that's wet. I had to ask for my clothes when they were dry. Iain went in my room on couple more occasions. I felt uncomfortable and on edge the whole time I was there. I couldn't wait to leave. Too many rules. I have read previous reviews and I'm not the only one that thinks this.
Jackie was lovely, very kind and helpful, always had a smile for you. Good, clean b&b

United KingdomThankfully I had only booked this for a night. I didn’t feel like a paying customer but an imposing guest. It was probably the most uncomfortable stay I have had in any B and B. We reached the beechwood at 5pm. Upon entrance, the first exchange with the B and B staff was an instruction to take our shoes off in a very narrow porch before entering. We were then taken to our rooms where we were instructed to leave luggage on a luggage mat. My friend asked what he could do if it gets cold at night, because he felt a chill in his room, and was subjected to a 10 minute lecture which involved being told a variety of reasons why he would not get cold at this property, one of them being that the house had superb insulation. He was also told how powerful the showers were blah blah..After that my friend could not lock his door. When he told the host about it he was told “yes the lock does work”. It turned out it didn’t, but my friend was then told previous guests who had used that room were able to lock it. An hour later me and my friend went for dinner. In the morning at 7-730 am when my friend and I showered, they were far from power showers (we were told how powerful they were), the water was lukewarm at first then turned freezing cold. After breakfast I mentioned to Jackie that both my friend and I had had a cold shower in the morning. I was told I had had a shower before the central heating had been put on. There was no apology for the fact that the property is not marketed with the proviso that there would only be any hot water during certain hours. Me and my friend packed after breakfast and left the property as quickly as we could.
The property was very clean and you could see the hosts took extreme pride in their property. The location was also very good. If you don’t mind, or even like, regimentation and rules then this place is for you.

FranceWhen we came to do the check-in, we were told we were not supposed to leave the B&B afterwards. We had friends waiting for us in another part of Glencoe and we didn't expect these rules. Normally, in a B&B, like in a hotel, we are free to come and go and this was not the case here. We didn't appreciate the hosts' attitude. Not everyone coming to Scotland plans on waking up at 7am to go hiking. People come for different reasons (relaxed holidays, special events...) and we didn't feel welcomed at all.
Really confortable

IrelandToo many rules for my liking, told to remove our shoes once we crossed the threshold, which is fair enough but it doesn't stop there, Ian spent 10 minutes going through how to open the windows properly, dont bang the hall door, dont drive over the cat, then ridiculed us for only staying 1 night in Glencoe and not having dinner pre booked... The cat was in the dining room next morning. No fresh fruit available for breakfast just tinned fruit. I could rant forever about our experience
Beautiful clean room and good sized bathroom This property is in a great location and Glencoe is a beautiful place

United Kingdom1. We were told that we couldn’t stay in the B&B whilst they were out because of insurance. So even though I didn’t feel well I had to leave the room for 2 hours. Which I thought was pretty awful. I would recommend upgrading your insurance. 2. For breakfast the cat jumped onto the table and stole some bacon from my partners plate. I would keep the cat outside of where people are eating. 3. When we mentioned we were climbing up a Munro, the host proceeded to list all the dangers of Munro’s and deaths that have occurred for inexperienced climbers. Not sure if this was because of our age, but wasn’t the best start to our weekend away.
