Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSecond time going, beautiful place, got to see a few animals about, birds a barn owl, deer in the field on our dusk walk up the path. Bed so comfy a lovely chilled experience with my husband, his birthday treat away. My husband was not a fan of the compost toilet but I didn't mind, lovely shower, something wild about showering in a field with birds singing all around you. Loved it

United KingdomThis is a lovely place to get away from it all, it really is secluded, the shepherds hut is comfortable and cosy and the separate building that houses the kitchen, shower and toilet is made of everything reclaimed, it’s quant and quirky, but at the same time is clean and has everything you need, the owner really has thought of everything. The fire pit is fab, evenings spent sitting round the fire toasting marshmallows were perfect. This was our second visit and we will return.

United KingdomPeaceful, relaxing and comfortable. Seeing the deer was a bonus. The facilities were just right and the welcome box a lovely gesture, especially the Raspberries. I would like to return and spend more time just to sit and enjoy the peace. If you’re not great at starting wood fires take some kindling it really helps to get the fire pit going. I took two fold up chairs as my mother is 82 so not up to sitting on the log seats. The track to the site has a few pot holes, but it’s ok. There is a little coop that was well stocked about 5-10 mins away if you need plus pubs. The position of the hut provides a stunning sunrise, and sunshine till late afternoon.

United KingdomI have no criticism of the place. My only reccomendation to make it better would be a heads up on ticks, and if there was some outside shelter from the sun/rain it would make it mega. 😊
Everything. Location, facilities, vibe.. Beautiful gem of a place. Definitely would like to return.

United KingdomWhat a beautiful place, owned and managed by very nice people. We had a superb time. I think the other reviews cover the key points - basically stunning, peaceful getaway with really communicative owners who will help you out with any questions you have. For those worrying about phones etc, you can charge your phone in the cabin (USB charger not wall socket), you get decent reception if you need to make a call (but try not to, you're getting away from it all right!?) THe kitchen area is fully stocked with pots, pans, cutlery etc. There's also a BBQ for a cook out. It's not at all hard to find if you read the directions Alice will send and for those complaining about their sports car struggling to drive in - it's just a gravel road; no issues driving in, in terms of low profile of car, just drive slowly! Wonderful place, you'll love it

United KingdomThis was the perfect couples retreat, remote but not too far out of the way, the shepherds hut was really quaint with a super comfy bed, the owner Alice had left a lovely welcome pack of goodies, she had thought of everything that made for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The kitchen and bathroom were brilliant, all made of reclaimed wood and furniture which was really quirky and fun, and had everything you needed. The fire pit made for two lovely evenings under the stars which was really romantic, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat.
