Parking in the council run car park literally across the busy main road is not the most convenient, but look out for the very reasonable Day rate £1.70.

This is a very old characterful property, with individual rooms neatly adapted to be en suite. Ours was wonderfully warm, despite the below zero outside temperatures

    Nothing all was great

Lovely spot perfect to explore from and the car parking was just over the road, you can buy a week ticket to save having to get up early and it's transferable to other car parks which is handy for day trips. Food was amazing and the room was lovely

No BBC channels available on tv. Mattress is probably past its best days. Room too hot: kirk turned it down on my arrival but it was still too warm in the night and I couldn't find the control to turn it off. No food on Mondays - can't remember seeing that when making the booking. Not a very good night's sleep I'm afraid so not really good value.

Friendly manager to welcome us. Rooms were pleasant.

The only minor issue was the road noise, not a lot that can be done about it but as it was a hot night we had the windows open and the blinds banged against the window frame every time a car or lorry drove past the building. Maybe some softer fabric window covers would help to absorb more exterior sound and not bang so much.

The pub is quirky and full of charm, great food and drinks options, the room was spacious and had comfortable beds and a clean bathroom, everything worked well and we had all we needed. A special mention must go to Alex who despite being busy with pub customers went the extra mile to help me out with some laundry and a drying rack and was good humoured and a great ambassador for the Bear Inn!

We parked the car on the local parking. It is payed for 8am till 6pm. So every morning i would get up at 7am and pay for 4h. But it was 1,7pounds, not expensive.

We stayed for 3nights we had the room with 3 separatebeds., Food and drinks were good. Good beds. Had a very nice stay. Very friendly! There is also a fantastic bakery down the street! For breakfest you can go to the Tudor place or the breakfastplace down the road.

The macerating toilet emitted a very bad smell when flushed. It got better during the night but was quite overpowering at first.

Great location in the centre of town, within a lovely friendly pub. Clean room with comfortable beds. Good strong shower.
