Hard to fault the hotel and its surroundings

Beautiful gardens and location. The hall looked wonderful and beautiful grounds. It was a delight to stay there.

Staff seem mostly indifferent, I told the hotel I’m celebrating my birthday and I didn’t get anything complimentary, - I was expecting a little chocolate or something, but nothing. Staff isn’t helpful or proactive In the bar I got whiskey in a half pint beavertown glass with crushed ice - very weird

Amazing resort, beautiful scenery, breathtaking views, lots of walks around. Room was spacious, bed was comfortable (even though it was two beds put together rather than 1 solid bed), interesting spin on the heaters - artwork on the walls (the blue indicator is too bright though and I had to figure out how to hide it) Food is great as well, not exceptional though

Nothing I was more than happy.

I'd made a late booking forva mews appartment to look around the Oakham area with a view to moving. When I arr8ved I'd been upgraded to an appartment in the hall, which was beautifully decorated with superb views. The staff were helpful & friendly, at all times.

Heating in room limited to one airblower in the bathroom. There did not appear to be any radiators or air-conditioning ( we were in room 444). No apparent porters to help with luggage

Overall very comfortable room with lovely view over Rutland Water. Restaurant outstanding. We had a delicious dinner and breakfast. Beautifully kept gardens

Bathroom in need of replacement to grubby shower panel over the bath. There was no ventilation in the bathroom so water was running down the mirror & inside the window.

The dining room was very large and a little like a canteen. Buffet breakfast was a bit of a bun fight with queues for the one hot drink machine.

The food at dinner felt over-priced for what it was Additionally at breakfast the queue for food was really long, partly due to the poor layout as it was not clear who was queueing for what There is a stile to head over to Rutland Water which was a little difficult to find and could have been signposted better. We were a little disappointed/confused to find that the hotel is only on a short section of Rutland Water but maybe that was us not doing sufficient research before

Lovely hotel will lots of accommodation options, staff were very friendly. Lovely location

A lovely resort in a beautiful setting that needs to pay a little more attention to customer service

Hotel reception did not answer my several attempts to telephone them the day before our visit and when we arrived we realised why. There was only ever one receptionist on duty, even at peak times and there was always a queue to be served. All the time she was dealing with customers, we could see the telephone ringing continuously but no one answered it. Several people in the queue gave up waiting and left. I consider this to be a significant failing. Whilst the food in the Blossoms Restaurant was good, the fact that we had to attract the attention of staff several times throughout the dinner meal to prompt them to do things detracted from the experience.

Very comfortable, well appointed room with a wonderful view across Rutland Water. The food was good.

While Blossoms restaurant was very good with great ambience decor and food, having to walk out in the weather (during one of the many recent storms) meant we arrived for dinner looking a bit dishevilled!

Room 510 had a superb view of Rutland Water, the room was large with chairs and a very clean warm bathroom. The weather was awful so we couldn't use the balcony. The Spa swimming pool looked very inviting but we didn't use it. All the staff we very friendly. The two photos are from room 510
