Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomFriendly family business, they can't do enough for you. The accommodation has everything you may need. I initially booked for 1 month due to relocating and waiting for a house purchase whilst starting a new job. Being the perfect location for working in Crewe (and for access to the M6 and other major routes) as I sort out my permanent home - I have extended my stay for a further 2 months. This has relieved a lot of stress and pressure with everything else going! I highly recommend for a home from home stay with all the facilities to be self contained.

United KingdomThere are 3main things which need improving.. 1)A light by the main entrance as when ur driving at 40mph its very easy to miss 2)The shower screen, it needs to be a bi-fold or a curtain, as when u want a shower or bath u have to open it towards the door and it's very hard to get in. 3) This is more of a suggestion,.... its a mish-mash of styles. I would recommend keep the farm feel and remove all the fruit pictures and replace them with old photos the old working farm. And remove the random Chinese theme stuff is it don't go, keep with the farm feel it would look fab.
The facilities and the bedding.

AustraliaOur room was up a steep set of external stairs this could be a problem if you have mobility issues.
Location was good in a nice quiet area. The kitchen was well equipped for a self catering stay. The bathroom was good with a shower bath. There was good parking on the property.

United StatesBooking.com app is terrible. Although I knew cottage I wanted was available at Bank Farm app would not show it as I was booking for two adults. Had to claim two adults and one child to get what I wanted. App. Also assumed two adults would share a bed. Overall Booking.com is horrible and I would not recommend people use it.
I have been staying here for twenty years and one could not find a nicer place for miles around. The cottages have a homey and charming atmosphere rather than the cold feel I,ve found in other self-catering accommodations.

AustraliaThere was traffic noise during the week (less over the weekend) but it didn’t disrupt my sleep. It was cold downstairs (the walls are very thick) but our hosts gave us a heater which helped. The living / TV area was a bit cluttered with too much furniture.
The beds were super comfortable (I like soft beds), and the surroundings were pretty. The kitchen was well equipped and the main bedroom was spacious. The shower was hot (good) and had good pressure. Our hosts were welcoming and accommodating.

AustraliaThe only issue was that the bed is described as double - but it is only 4ft or 1.2m wide and what the UK I believe calls a "Small Double." This was much too narrow for us and we are by no-means big people.
The HayLoft is compact like a studio apartment. The bathroom was good, water pressure was great. The washing machine was a strong reason for selecting the accommodation and it was a real benefit for us. We used the galley kitchen to prepare our own breakfast and made simple pasta dinner one night.
