Location is beautiful right on the River Dee. Quirky decor that makes it full of character in a good way. Staff were super helpful and accommodating. Bed was exceptionally comfy. Parking was easy.

We were allocated a very small room when we arrived. much too small for the comfort of two people. Unfortunately there were no other rooms available on the first night, but was made up for on the second night.

The upgrade for our second night was very much appreciated. Food was excellent and service from all staff was very good. There ws a very relaxing feel to the hotel which made us enjoy our stay even more.

Breakfast on first morning (smoked salmon and scrambled eggs) excellent. Cooked breakfast on second morning very poor and we were put in a room where we had to walk to the main breakfast room for juice and cereals etc.

Good large room and bathroom with all facilities apart from a two pin point for my electric shaver. Dinner on first evening very well cooked and well presented.

That we didn’t stay longer

I booked Banchory Lodge as an overnight for me and my partners anniversary and couldn’t be more impressed with our stay. The staff were aware of this and provided a ‘Happy Anniversary’ tray of chocolates and fruit to our room. Very friendly and accommodating, the weather was great so moved us to an area we could get the sun in the beer garden soon as they could upon us asking. The food was amazing, and a beautiful location. Would highly recommend especially, in the summer months.

Everything! The location was idyllic and we had upgraded our room and found ourselves in the annexe building which had a fabulous view of the river. The room was stunning. The staff were all very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. We would definitely stay again.

There were too many emails asking me to check in online. Check in at property was fast and efficient, even though I hadn't checked in on line. I can't see the point of online check in unless it is for them to obtain additional personal information that is not actually required. Food and service were a little variable. It was excellent on the first day. On the second night the caesar salad didn't meet expectations (wet lettuce with some bits not the best quality) and the service wasn't so good at breakfast. Not bad enough to complain just didn't meet the high standards set on the first day.

Lovely location, good service and good food. The duck egg and asparagus starter was excellent. The room was very comfortable with a window seat looking out onto river. Good coffee and cafetiere in room.

Bar prices are just that bit too high, I mean a large White House wine just under £12. But other than that, couldn’t pick a fault.

Hotel is a touch of class and in a stunning / peaceful location. The staff are so welcoming and cannot wait until we can return again. breakfast with a view of the river just finished off a fantastic break.

It wasn't a case of not liking it, as everything was great. If I could pick a fault, it would be the long waiting times at breakfast to get a waiter to take orders or even get a cup of tea. I stayed three nights, and on average, the wait was approximately five minutes. The food made up for it, though.

Food, Breakfast and Room Service for evening meal, first class and Yummy.....Loved it The Room was wonderful, all we expected.
