Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing really; but visitors should be aware that our room faced the main road so a little noisy (especially if you like to have the window open) and that there is no parking on-site.
The breakfasts were really amazing, exceedingly imaginative and very well presented. Our hosts were very helpful in advising us about local restaurants and local walks. Rye is a uniquely old and beautiful town which is well worth a visit.

United KingdomHad an amazing stay, the hosts are very knowledgeable and friendly. The property is tastefully decorated with a lot of amazing 60,70,80s furniture from various parts of the world. The breakfast is totally outstanding the presentation and the quality of the locally sourced ingredients. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

United KingdomNothing- trip was wonderful
We had a garden view room very stylishly and thoughtfully decorated, was peaceful and quiet. Everything was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was amazing, with locally sourced ingredients, homemade bread and spreads, and a choice of cooked dishes. Lovely hosts who were attentive and with a good knowledge of local area- recommended good places to eat and drink. Rye is beautiful and we did some excellent walks to Hastings and Camber Sands.

United KingdomWe could not have found a better place to stay in Rye. The room, breakfast and location was incredible! Jeremy and Tomas are exceptional hosts. Our trip would not have been as enjoyable without their hospitality and recommendations. They took the time to talk us through different sites, restaurants and walks. 10/10

United KingdomThe main issue, sadly, is the busy road at the front of the property and the high step up to the front door or step down onto the road, the pavement being on the opposite side of the road from the property. This made access somewhat difficult for my disabled partner. Car Parking, by pre-payment, is located several hundred metres away from the property and parking the car for unloading/loading is both impossible, hazardous, and illegal on the busy narrow road outside the property. We stayed in the 'Teak' room, on the first floor at the rear of the house, which was both delightful and quiet, overlooking the terraced garden. In the very compact bathroom, the step-down from the shower cubicle was troublesome for my disabled partner and could prove to be a potential hazard for some visitors.
The hosts could not have done any more to make us welcome, showing us around the facilities available and recommending places to dine and to visit. Our breakfasts during our two-night stay were exceptional and the presentation of the table in the guest's own exclusive breakfast room were a work of art and had to be photographed! The range of food and drink available each day, catering for all tastes. We would have no hesitation in recommending Aviemore Guest House.

FinlandOur bed was maybe bit too small for my tall partner but it wasn't really a problem.
Everything was great! Jeremy and Tomas were super friendly and made us feel welcome. They were happy to help us with recommendations about places to eat, things to do and places to see. We loved our room and the location was also great. Breakfast was absolutely amazing for both vegan and non-vegan. We definitely want to stay here if visiting Rye again.

United KingdomOn arrival we were made to feel welcome with a coffee. Shown around the property and everything explained. Information given about the town , good bars and restaurants to try and local places of interest. Also identified on a map given to us. The property has a lovely feel to it, space has been used well with attention to detail, finished off with complementary decor. The breakfast experience is out of this world, with many homemade products from the bread to the jams. Attention to detail on combining fruits and homemade products towards a theme to refresh and energise. A choice of different breakfasts that you will want to experience. All presented with care and love. Again their attention to detail creates a relaxed and enjoyable experience. The hosts again take the opportunity to help through finding out what you want from your day and provide ideas and options with their local knowledge. A wonderful stay here, from start to finish made me feel welcome, unwind and relaxed from the busy and everyday stress of work. The town itself is just a couple minutes walk with lots of history and shaped the streets and styles of houses from the different periods. Independent shops and restaurants are great to see adding to the character of the town. We had fun looking around the many antique shops as well as buying some new shirts, jewelry and gems. Had some lovely food in some of the restaurants serving local fresh produce. Had a day out walking in the nature reserve within the harbour that allowed plenty of photography opportunities as did the town itself. Lovely walks inland as well by the canal or river. Several surrounding towns and places of interest would visit if we were staying for longer, next time perhaps.

United KingdomThere was not much at all to dislike at the property at all!! a great place to stay and enjoy Rye- only thing to note was the cleaning service on room each day was excellent but due to the extensive tidying we sometimes found we misplaced items as they had been tidied and moved
The property was very clean and homely with private dining areas and then guest rooms. The room was incredibly clean and well thought out providing a comfortable and enjoyable stay. A big thank you to our hosts who went out our way to make sure we had a lovely stay and experience in Rye :)) would definitely recommend to friends and family

United KingdomNothing - this place is supreme.
We enjoyed a lovely weekend at Aviemore Guest House. It’s perfectly located for exploring Rye. Jeremy and Tomas were incredibly helpful and suggested lots of things to do and where to eat. The guest house is beautiful and thoughtfully designed to cater to every need. The breakfast provided is incredible! We ate like Kings, the Czech breakfast being a stand out dish. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Rye!

United KingdomThe breakfast at Aviemore was absolutely to die for. We are well travelled and read the previous reviews, thinking - how great could it be. We were blown away. Dishes we'd never even heard the names of, with fresh ingredients, lovingly home prepared. And our hosts could not have been kinder or more helpful. Highly recommend.

United States of AmericaCant' think of anything, other than crossing the busy street in front of the place.
The breakfast was phenominal, it was gourmet all the way and the serving of it was like an experience at a nice winery. Each dish and slice of bread was laid out and explained like a nice glass of wine.

Tomas and Jeremy were so welcoming and helpful and went out of their way to recommend the best places to eat and activities to do whilst here as well as offering us blankets for the beach and flasks of tea for our walks. We had such a wonderful stay with Jeremy and Thomas. They paid great attention to small details, including the room decorations, the AMAZING breakfast (me and my partner have quite different tastes but both absolutely loved it, and so much of it was home made / locally sourced etc) and all their help with making the most of the local area (places to eat, support with bus times etc). Even though the BnB is on a busy road, it’s lovely and peaceful and you couldn’t hear the road from our room at all - just a lovely view of the garden. The location was great - situated in the heart of Rye and great walks nearby (that they can advise on). They also have a focus on being sustainable, e.g. by limiting plastic use which we really liked. Jeremy and Thomas were also just lovely, kind people - nothing was too much trouble. We are so glad we found this place!
