Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThey only thing we didn't like was Leaving.
We were made to feel welcome the moment we arrived. The house and our room was spotless, the attention to detail was exceptional. Our hosts spent time telling us about the area and gave us maps pinpointing places of interest. The breakfasts were probably the best we have ever had. We would definitely recommend this beautiful place to stay. Location was ideal to explore Rye.

United KingdomEverything was perfect!
We had the most wonderful time at Aviemore Guest House as a chance for a relaxing break before the arrival of our baby. Every detail was incredibly thought out, from the beautiful mid-century decor and thoughtful books placed in the rooms to the exceptional food! Tomas and Jeremy are brilliant hosts and their recommendations for things to see and do in and around Rye as well as local restaurants, which all made our trip so much better! The breakfasts were the most amazing start to the day and probably the best we have ever had! We wouldn't come to Rye and stay anywhere else now that we have experienced Aviemore and hope to return again one day :)

United KingdomThe best thing about our stay was the breakfast-sensational! Guests have their own room with an array of beautifully presented, mostly locally sourced & home made food. Thomas is keen to share his Czech heritage so offers a wonderful selection of, to us, very different & amazingly tasty dishes. Both Thomas & Jeremy were very friendly & helpful. The property was very clean & beautifully & interestingly decorated.

United KingdomWe had an amazing stay at Aviemore! The room was well furnished with all the necessities, very comfortable bed and quiet. Jeremy was very helpful prior to our arrival, great communication regarding our time of arrival and dietary requirements for breakfast. Once there, Jeremy and Thomas gave us lots of recommendations of where to go explore, rent bikes, find vegan food and the best places to eat out. The breakfast was delicious, they have a few savoury vegan options (as well as non vegan) and a great porridge with home made oat milk, everything is fresh and home made! We also had the sandwiches for a lunch out and they were very tasty with a flask of green tea :)

United KingdomNo pathway so tricky to get access across the road when busy.
Lots of character , the design was very good and the owners had worked really hard to create a unique experience. We had a whole floor with sitting room which was lovely. The attention the owners gave to your well being was great and the breakfast’s were delicious and each day thought through using local produce. Will definitely stay again 😀

United KingdomWe had a glorious stay at Aviemore, the room was charming and just our retro style. The breakfasts absolutely delicious and wonderfully wholesome we bought some of the yummy homemade nut butters and seeds to take home we loved them so much. Tomas gave us such wonderful recommendations for places to visit such as the abundantly floral Great Dixter House, the nature reserve and Winchelsea beach. They even gave us a complimentary flask of tea, apples and towels for our excursion to the beach. Absolutely 5* experience.

United KingdomThe room was a super clean and had everything we needed, but it was a little compact and road facing so was a bit noisy if we left the window open to let in air overnight. Think in summer heat we were a little warm overnight. Some of the other rooms might have been better positioned towards the back garden.
The breakfast was unbelievably good. Definitely exceeded our already high expectations. It was also beautifully presented and we loved having our own little room to eat in. Thank you Tomas! We enjoyed the eco ethos - felt authentic. We also really appreciated the welcome when we arrived and all the insider tips - including helping us plan a long run in the morning. Thank you Jeremy for lending my husband some running trainers - you really went above and beyond.

United KingdomWanted to stay longer! The only negative is that Aviemore is on a busy road with a lot of lorries driving past but this did not detract from our stay.
What a delightful place to stay, the decor, the breakfast and lastly the fantastic, attentive hosts Jeremy and Tomas all added up to a truly incredible stay in Rye. The breakfast was outstanding, Tomas was passionate about the food on offer and went into great detail about the benefits of everything we ate which was greatly influenced by his home country of Czechoslavakia. Beautifully presented and an abundance of choice, I defy anyone to leave the table without feeling they could not possibly eat another morsel until the evening :) The accommodation was an eclectic array of furniture and decorations carefully put together by the hosts to create a calm and relaxing atmosphere with a beautiful garden enhanced by their 2 black cats who spent most of their day sleeping in various spots (weather permitting of course). We cannot thank Jeremy and Tomas enough for a wonderful stay, they provided us with information about Rye, places to eat (and those to avoid) and places to explore further afield. We shall definitely return :D

United KingdomNothing at all - it was perfect!
The breakfast was amazing and creative - the best I have ever had in a b&b, with a variation every day and touches like flowers as part of the meal, juices mixed with care to give an unexpected and delicious combination, home made conserves and nut butters - did I mention the nut butters? - that were out of this world as well as being vegan friendly. Truly made with love! All the rooms including the dining rooms were so carefully curated, with such style, it was like walking into a hipper version of world of interiors. And above all the care, kindness and sweetness of Jeremy and Thomas was outstanding - i will definitely be back again and will be telling all my friends - you have to stay there!

A very lovely stay at Aviemore, perfect hosts and very comfortable rooms and we felt very looked after. Breakfast was beautiful. healthy and delicious. It was so refreshing to stay somewhere where there has been real thought and care for the environment but at the same time still providing guests with comfort. Jeremy and Tomas are clearly passionate about Aviemore and put a lot of care and consideration into their guests' needs. We slept really well in our room and had excellent recommendations for country walks and restaurants. The location could not be better really it's a few minutes walk to the shops and restaurants.

MexicoI'd just note that the cinema room smells very much of mildew? I'm sure they know, and I suspect it's really difficult to get rid of so that's not really a problem. I would've happily sat there to watch a film but my friend was too bothered by it.
It was very pleasant to be in: the decoration was very tasteful, the location was perfect and the hosts are exceptional. You can see that a lot of care and passion goes into running this b&b. And the breakfast was delicious and beautiful.
