We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

United KingdomNoise was a massive issue - we were right by the front door so heard everyone passing and there was a bus stop right outside our window so we were treated to a lot of shouting and chatting around midnight! Not enough plug sockets - only one bedside lamp could be plugged in and kettle had to be moved onto the floor to be boiled as there were only low level plugs

United Kingdomwhen we walked into the room the radiator was on full blast and it was uncomfortably hot. Floor wasn’t clean Shower only has two temps exceptionally hot and freezing cold. Normal tv doesn’t work. Luckily was able to log into net flix.

United KingdomHard to find parking, it was very loud as the road was right outside out window and we could hear everything (cars/busses/drunks😂) The room was uncomfortably warm, the radiators would not turn off (even after a staff member tried), and the windows are screwed shut so no way to cool it down. Bed was uncomfortable and the room was quite small.

Pretty good value for money as I was on a very tight budget and the location in the middle of Kemptown was perfect. The room heated radiator was excellent.

United KingdomDO NOT RECOMMEND. Stayed here with my partner for 5 days. Like everyone else has stated, had issues with check in. No email sent with door access codes, had to call to get in. Was told via email we would be in a basement room, but was relocated upon arrival to a different room on the top floor. (Room 8). Room was tiny, which is not advertised in the photos! Bathroom was even worse. No space to store toiletries of any kind. No room to move around at all. The hairdryer provided worked for 10 seconds (maybe even less) before overheating and turning itself off. All the windows in the building were riddled with mould. Yes! Mould. And very poorly insulated. Closing the window at night still let in cold air, and everything is so loud! Noises from outside and all other rooms are unavoidable. Doors to the rooms seem flimsy, have gaps in, not secure whatsoever. To add to this outstanding review, we also both got eaten alive by bed bugs! BED BUGS! In sheets that should have been changed hours before our arrival. Bathroom was filthy, blocked drain, hair and dirt on and around the toilet, along with a bowing floor. Rubbish bath mat, sucked up no water so the minuscule bathroom just got damp. Did I mention mould in the shower too? The place needs a DEEP clean. Windows and bathroom riddled with mould. CLEARLY filthy bedsheets. Absolutely no on site staff, apart from a scarce amount of cleaners that come in mid-morning. Customer service was poor, with no check-in information, room changes, and upon requesting extra body wash and shampoo, we were told they would send someone shortly. After an hour we called again and were told they had none, someone would be sent to buy some, and would deliver it to us later on. Did they? Of course not. NOT worth the price, the location doesn’t make up for it either. Poor service, poor accommodation. Absolutely filthy property. Not a hotel, a “guesthouse”, needs a serious revamp. In my opinion, shouldn’t even be on Booking.com!!!!! Disgraceful!!!!!

SwedenAvalon is not a hotel. It is a AirBnB-style room renal. The room was less than 10 square meters including shower and bathroom. No breakfast was offered and no cleaning during the stay. Contact with anybody representing Avalon could only be done via a WhatsApp-number. The room was largely overcharged.

United KingdomTerrible. Avoid this hotel. They ejected me from my room at 10.30pm at night after a serious plumbing problem made the room uninhabitable. The hotel made no effort to help me find alternative accommodation. After my friend's room was affected by the bad smell from the plumbing fault he had to move out, but they refused to refund his room. The hotel is very badly maintained and the staff are extremely unhelpful.

United KingdomAccommodated in the basement with black mould up the walls and a strong smell of damp. My wife booked this on my behalf and essaged the hotel via the app. I was given a can of air freshener. Upon complaining about the heath hazard of the room, we were offered 20% refund as the room had been "used". At that point, I had only checked in and hadn't used the room. However the hotel was full and they were unable to move me to a room without mould and damp. Then at 2am, the fire alarm went off and all guest stood outside for an hour, whilst no member of staff attended or could be reached on the phone. Another guest called the phoned the fire brigade. Eventually a porter turned up who struggled to understand English, had no note of guests and was therefore unable to carry out basic fire warden and safety checks. My wife followed up on her complaint, asking for a full refund. The hotel has now offered 50% instead of a full refund and apologiy for putting anyone in a room of that state and not having appropriate staff or measures in place when it comes to fire alarms. Thankfully it was just a false alarm. Terrible experience and I would caution anyone who is considering booking here.
