The decor has obviously been around a long time and although some of it is part of the charm, some could do with updating. The pillows were not the best either.

The location and hotel were brilliant. Rooms were good. Like the lounge and the the restaurant choices, made staying there very easy. Also the ability to park the car easily helped.

Unfortunately due to the age of the property if you had difficulty climbing stairs, it would be difficult to move around easily. Breakfast was more of a bun fight and not particularly relaxing. Cold plates and long waits for hot food. Staff seemed stressed and quite short with visitors. We also ordered papers for the room, which despite several requests did not materialise. These are things that could easily be put right.

We’ve often stayed at the Atholl Palace, it has changed greatly over the years. The foyer is comfortable area to sit and relax, warm and inviting. The views from the hotel are outstanding, we were lucky enough to have a suite(although a bit of a climb) the room was comfortable with incredible views.

Disappointed there werent any newspapers in the morning. I got up before the rest of my party and asked reception if I could have a cup of coffee sitting at the fire. Advised dining room would be opening shortly. When I asked the dining staff I was told they didn't have time for this and should have been organized by reception. Also asked if I could have vegan sausages. A staff member went to the kitchen to ask and didn't return to feedback. Another member of staff said they would take 10 minutes. After a wait of 20 minutes, I asked again and was told they had run out. I've previously worked in 5-star hotels and felt poor customer service in the dining room compared to what I expected. I spent a lot of money as paid for 4 people's stay at the hotel. Our party had hoped to make this a yearly trip as it was the anniversary of a difficult time for us all. Based on my experience, I won't be back.

Bed was comfortable. Loved the grounds, spa and log fires.

Reception staff not forthcoming with info at point of booking, had to keep asking about the basics e.g. where breakfast was/times etc.

Lovely views of the countryside from our room. Nice hotel, very good selection at breakfast.

There are areas that are a bit dated however given the size and age of the property i think it is expected.

Second stay here and the family rooms are great!! they are very spacious and have a little sitting room type area which is great to sit as a family and not cramped on bed to watch a bit of TV before bed. The lobby has a great feel to it with the two open fire and decor. The pool area was fab and a breakfast was very good.

The hairdryer in our room didn't work as I was about to dry my hair. Asked for replacement and was told there wasn't any so had to go down to dinner with wet hair. Not really acceptable. Room was comfortable but very hot. Breakfast was basic and of mediocre quality unfortunately, but staff were very busy and helpful.

Fantastic location, beautiful building and comfortable bed. We were able to check in a little earlier which was great. Good parking. Staff were helpful on check in and at dinner. The spa is lovely and staff there were great too!

Beautiful accommodations with a good sized room and bathroom. The amenities at this hotel are outstanding. I took advantage of the laundry room available fior guest use. That was very convenient to have access to. The spa is also a wonderful experience. Lovely grounds for walking or taking advantage of the tennis courts and putting green. The lobby was amazing with lots of places to sit, enjoy a beverage, or converse in front of a wood burning fireplace. There’s a bar and restaurant on site with a great menu so you really don’t have to leave the hotel at all! But if you do there’s plenty to see and do in the beautiful town of Pitlochry.

The only thing I could fault was that our shower in our room was over the bath. Being ladies of a certain age climbing into a bath for a shower is not really a good idea. We managed though!!

I loved the whole atmosphere of the place. Very welcoming, warm and inviting. My friend and I loved our time in the Stag Bar. We were totally spoiled by Brodie the Australian lad who was just lovely to a pair of oldies!! Also had a lovely chat with Sinead……a lovely lady!!

The dinner is way overypriced and the quality is not present. We do not recommend to have dinner here.

The personnel is very nice and the castle is amazing inside. We enjoyed the very typical scottish interior and decoration, the fireplaces everywhere were great to sit by. The room and the bathroom were very cosy and warm. We recommend the night there. We enjoyed the swimming pool and the jacuzzi, the breakfast was very nice too.

We were on honeymoon and I paid more for our room but our friend's room was actually larger and more luxurious than ours. Our bed was a normal double but theirs was a super king-size too.

Staff were all lovely and attentive. The hotel was just what I was hoping for- traditional, cosy, log fires and stunning views. We ate in the Stag Bar. Same menu as the main restaurant but it was less formal feeling. The quality and quantity of the food was amazing and the menu had plenty choice. Buffet breakfast was in the main restaurant and again the quality of the food was first class. The bedrooms were very comfortable. The whole place was spotless. Bottle of prosecco and a card in our room as a wedding gift was nice.

Only one issue was our shower had a very poor flow of water.

This is a lovely hotel with a very nice atmosphere and beautiful location and views. The large lounge area is very welcoming and cosy with lots of log fires. Breakfast was excellent and staff all very helpful. The pool and spa is also lovely. The bar is very cosy and atmospheric and the live singer on Friday night was excellent. We really enjoyed his set.
