Second time staying here, easy access to the tube & close to kings cross. Staff are lovely and helpful. Bathroom is a decent size as well as the rooms. Perfect for a short stay if you are out and about

Due to the nature of the old building, the bathroom was down some very treacherous and steep stairs in the middle of the night. And I was put in a building three doors down from the main hotel. Not a fault of the staff or hotel, just how it was laid out.

The staff were amazingly gracious and helpful. The room and the bathrooms were sparkling clean.

Read the description carefully because there are many steps without an elevator, which was not a problem for us but you should pay attention if you have any special needs regarding the steps.

The location is excellent, the service very helpful, our room was very clean and in 3 days they changed our sheets 2 times. The room was basic, tiny, but we didn't need anything else for that short stay.

It would have been nice for the room to have a kettle. My room only had one power socket & it was not near the bed.

There is no insulation between the rooms and around the windows (the building is almost 200 years old).

Warm in summer so we had to keep the window open at night, which was sometimes noisy.

Excellent location, 10 minute walk from King's Cross. En-suite bathroom was modern and clean. Welcoming staff.

A.lot of noise both inside and outside the hotel. The floors were very creaky and uneven and we could hear the people in the next room, especially when using the toilets and showers

Shared bathroom and toilet was a surprise for us when we arrived, but it is noted in the booking so that was our mistake. However it smelled of unwashed urine a bit. After our shower the cleaning guy walked in on us naked because he didn't knock. The room is tiny, and dated. No airconditioning for hot summer days.

Very friendly staff and a good central location. Strong internet access. Water was clean and drinkable. Heating would be present on winter days. I like the family run aspect of it all and the sustainability focus.

Not the most comfortable of properties but it served its purpose well. It looked the way it looked in the pictures. Our expectations were not of luxury but basic comfort and in this regard it fit the bill.

The bed is so soft and not very comfortable. The sink was blocked for the first two days of our stay.

The location is very good. It is close to the British museum. And it is convenient to visit the landmarks in London. The staff are very nice and helpful.

Coffee and tea in the common room is a nice touch, but quickly ran out every day. I suggest checking on it regularly :-)

Excellent location on a nice street in vibrant and green Bloomsbury. This is not the Ritz and doesn't pretend to be: It's simple but cozy with an authentic feel. My room was small but nicely arranged, and the staff were friendly. I had a shared bathroom which always takes a little getting used to, but it worked out OK. Check the hotel's website so you know what you're getting. Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby, and convenient for some of the major train stations. Weather permitting, the nearby Russell Square gardens are nice for an afternoon drink.

I hated having to get out of my room to go to the bathroom, but that seems to be the standard for all "cheaper" hotels in London right now.

I guess it was comfortable to have a sink in the room since the bathroom was outside. Overall the place was clean, bed was comfortable and the location was good, too. Useful for a one-night-stay.
