Carpet could've been a bit cleaner

Retro vibe to the rooms, very helpful and nice staff, everything was working perfectly. Everything is neatly organized. Breakfast was excellent, the work of lady who does the waitressing and house keeping is incredibly neat, tidy, and tasteful!

Our room was in the semi basement & had a damp smell, especially in the bathroom. There were damp patches on the wall under the window.

Some areas are a little dated, properly quite old Windows need replacing and not really safe for anyone travelling with young children

I arrived after the weather had been quite warm. There was a very small portable fan in the room, but it was totally inadequate. I asked the staff for a fan, but the response was a curt no. So, my first night was unbearable. With the windows open, there was still no airflow, so I just suffered through the night lying in a damp bed from sweat. I bought a fan the next day and that made the rest of the stay comfortable. I can understand why air conditioning may not be installed, but not having fans for guest rooms was surprising. I had two big windows, but I couldn't leave them open when not in the room. The room has a good fan now, unless management removes it.

The location is a bit removed from the center of the city, but it's an easy walk and there are plenty of amenities very close by that it isn't an issue. The room itself was a good size with a desk for work and tea/coffee. The bathroom was small, but functional. Breakfast was a nice treat every morning. The offering was the same every day, but it was a substantial meal to start my day and the staff were friendly and attentive.

The hotels needs some renovation, which seems to be taking place. Having looked at reviews and based on the price, the hotel was what I expected, so I wasn’t disappointed.

Shower area a bit tired and needed a deep clean and waste pipe cleared to prevent water build up in tray. T.V awkwardly situated on wall to side of bed.

Central location, two minutes to riverside walk and 15 minute walk to Cambridge centre. Excellent bistro pub - The Old Spring, directly opposite the hotel

The room was a little dated. The toilet was dirty (not flushed) when we went into the room, but just hoped this was an oversight by the cleaner.

Excellent location to walk into the city centre. Room was spacious. Staff were helpful. The breakfast was great, and set us up for the day.

It’s a bit of a warren and we had to carry cases up 3or 4 flights of stairs

Location - an easy 15 minute walk to the centre but very quiet very good price considering the town. Lots of parking. Good substantial breakfast included in the price.

Hotel a little dated and very hot and has no air conditioning. on our visit it was 26 every day so coming back to a very warm room was a bit uncomfortable

The Ashley is at present a work in progress, the initial appearance of the outside was disappointing, in need of decorating, the entrance again gave wrong impression, a little drab, reception contacted by intercom. Then it becomes apparent that the hotel is in line for a full modernisation and extension, so therefore the outside is just temporary. However I would suggest give the front door a clean/coat of paint to make it a nicer frontage. So if anyone is booking the Ashley, it is lovely inside, clean and tidy do not be put off. May be an idea that the owners put something on the website/booking.com that the hotel is under going external facelift.

The breakfast was good, reasonable choice and nicely cooked. The room we had was clean and fresh, bed was good and comfy. Location worked for us, only a twenty minute walk to Cambridge centre or the bus about five minutes trip. The two ladies who both serve breakfast are very efficient, work hard, when they have done the breakfast then they start to clean the rooms, they need a great big pat on the back.

The bathroom was not nice, there was hair over the floor, around the toilet, and in the shower. There was quite a bit of mould around the shower and the shower door. The front door and entrance wasn't very welcoming and had a different name on it. Room was very hot, no fan, and didn't want to open the window at night onto the street.

Although the room was a little outdated, it was as pictured and the bed linen was clean. The staff were pleasant and the breakfast was nice. Good location and nice pub next door.

The place wasn’t fully clean, there was visible dust on the mirror & the fan in the bathroom had very visible dust on it as well.

Person on front desk checking in was officious and off-putting. This is 2.5 star accommodation, so no elevator, no air conditioning (we visited in summer). Plumbing is old and doesn't work well (including no hot water late at night). Even at the height of summer cost is expensive for what you get.

Great location in Cambridge. Cleaning and breakfast staff were excellent and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and very filling. Parking was a big plus.
