Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomA slightly cooler duvet (this is only my own personal preference). It is so peaceful and quiet the window can be left open and the radiator can be turned down/off.
Fabulous location with parking facilities and tucked quietly away up a beautiful cobbled alleyway. Excellent quality breakfast and dietary options. Lynn and her staff team were lovely, so welcoming and helpful.

United KingdomWe couldn’t fault our stay! We recommend it! The only thing we found was that the local shop around the corner closed early, so if you stay in the centre of Grassington make sure to stock up if you want any extras for your room early
The cottage was really lovely, comfortable and clean. The host was very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was included and was excellent, a good way to start the day. In a great location! So many nice little shops and cafes/traditional pubs a stones throw away

United KingdomNothing. Loved it all.
Amazing location although a bit tight if you've got a big car! But still wouldn't put us off returning! Lovely warm feeling as you get there, even before entering the building. Staff really friendly and informative. Room beautiful, cozy and well equipped. Overall excellent experience and can't wait to return!

United KingdomThe entrance is a fairly tight squeeze for a big car. I watched a Mercedes 4 by 4 making a real hash of getting in, but once the narrow passages have been negotiated, there is good parking. The bedroom was a little smaller than I would have liked, but with a very comfortable bed.
The building is attractive and very central. The owners are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is cooked to order and of excellent quality, clearly containing the best ingredients. There is a comfortable sitting room. No dinner is served, but there are numerous good cafes, restaurants and pubs within easy walking distance. The place oozed individuality and character.

United KingdomTo put any dislikes is very difficult and seemingly picky.. The bed was a tad hard ( this is obviously my preference) The bathroom was a little small
Cosy little hotel tucked down a small alley off the high street. Totally in keeping with the area it is kept to a very high standard with knowledgeable friendly staff. Perfectly placed to access the center of Grassington with great eating choices. The residents lounge was a very nice touch. I am sure we will be back.

United KingdomNot that we didn't like room No.1 this time, but we preferred room No.3 that we stayed in back in May this year.
Our second stay and it did not disappoint. Ideal location in the centre of Grassington and very short walking distance to Linton Falls. The building, garden and rooms are beautiful. Quaint and very well maintained. Decor, comfort and cleanliness spot on. Shower gel, shampoo and hand soap provided in the bathroom. Along with tea/coffee/choc making facility, you are also gifted some good quality biscuits. Love the added touch of the mini bottles of Prosecco. The house has a lovely lounge with an honesty bar. We didn't make use of the lounge, but took our night caps to bed. Plenty to choose from at breakfast and all cooked to perfection. I asked for a small portion of the full Yorkshire breakfast as I remembered that on our first stay, there was a lot. A lovely friendly welcome on arrival and a fond farewell. We will definitely be back. Added bonus for us was the private car park.

United StatesThe fact that we didn't stay longer!
We were met by Lynn when we checked in. She was so kind, warm and welcoming! She asked about our dinner plans and when we admitted to not having reservations anywhere, she made them for us at The Devonshire. The location of this lovely little gem is perfect, right off of the square. Everything is easy to reach, including the hiking trail through an extremely picturesque area! Our stay couldn't have been better.

United KingdomThere was nothing we didn’t like we are still talking and telling are neighbours about our great experiences in your hotel
As we turned the corner this beautiful building was in front of us it was stunning when we drove through the gardens to the car park they were immaculately presented all beautiful. We were welcomed at the door by Stephen who was so full of knowledge about the house and the area, the fabulous tartan carpets in the downstairs rooms gave you the warmth as soon as you walked in. The lounge was spectacular just how to make people feel welcome so homely and comfortable. Our room was perfect so comfortable and everything there you could possibly need 10/10 for our bedroom. Must not forget breakfast it was fantastic it tasted amazing perfect poached eggs my favourite and excellent bacon and sausage, the service was quick, and the hosts were very friendly they put themselves out to please everyone and they did!! So a great big massive thank you from us both we will go back and take friends with us .

CanadaMinor things at breakfast- tiny salt and pepper paper packets have no place in a 5 star inn. Even the poor places provide S&P shakers and most provide grinders. And this is the only place in 4 weeks of breakfasts with no fresh fruit out.
Friendly welcome and help with the tricky driveway entrance.
