Great location & lovely historic building (like living in a castle)

There were ditty dishes & cups outside of our room the entire time we were there. From the moment we got there until we left many dirty dishes were right outside our room. In addition, it’s a buffet breakfast (which is fine) however they only had one coffee machine which also made the hot water so you had to wait forever to get hot water to make tea. This was quite annoying and totally unavoidable. They could easily have a hot water station for tea drinkers or just bring tea to the tables.

The bed was comfy & had a lot of amenities.

Part of the reason for our stay was to enjoy the spa. I was able to rush there for 45 min upon arrival. The locker rooms were bad—wet concrete floors like a high school natatorium. But enjoyed a sauna. Unfortunately, despite receiving many emails prior to the stay asking us to complete unecessary check in information, we received no warning that the spa was closed for the next day. Disappointing

Bar and waiting staff were a bit clueless. Barman seemed to fall to pieces when he had 9 customers . Also waiting staff sent to wrong tables with orders. Maybe some training.

The pool is actually a communal pool! This was not said anywhere on the advert. So when we arrived there, there were classes with the local kids. It's every day from 16.00 to 19.00 so if you plan to go to the pool, don't go at that time (which was the only time we could go). That was a huge disappointment because the pool is small and more than half was reserved for the classes. Unfortunately, we also saw a cockroach in the corridor of the hotel, though I have to say it looks all very clean and well taken care of.

The staff was so welcoming, especially at the bar, the two young men working there were very welcoming and nice The breakfast was delicious, fresh and with a wide variety of choices The building looks beautiful There are Highland coos on the property so just for that, I was happy Bedroom was huge

The spa also needs upgraded - I was a member before and everything looks the same.

Hotel a bit tired and needing upgraded the room however was nice- because I come from Aberdeen I know the hotel well the grounds have sadly deteriorated a lot.

The mattresses have feathers in them. Please when they need renewed replace a few with hypoallergenic material mattresses. As I can only manage one night stay. I would love this to be the main hotel I stay in in Aberdeenshire.

This is one of my favourite hotels in Aberdeenshire. The staff are great with me. Especially when I have put in request due to my allergies.

The restaurant service and when the lack of communication between the restaurant and the desk. As they almost charged twice for the dinner at the restaurant, and when checking out we had to dhow proof of payment and recall all we had eaten. The food was okay although not great or exciting. The bisque and raviolo were bland, and the duck main was ok but the dauphine potato didn't have much taste and the spring roll was soaked in jus losing all the crispiness. Not sure if it was good value for money.

The spa looked more like a regular pool, the welcome was average, super noisy from the heater(?) pipes. No hairdryer in the room ; we got one but made me feel like it was a weird and tough request !

Beautiful outside castle like, the garden is beautiful too. The decoration inside is old school which gives a nice effect ! The room was spacious, beds very comfortable. Breakfast with a lot of choice ! Staff was welcoming!

Wellness needs some renovation - pool and sauna. Also strange that to finish sauna there is no rule to enter without swim suite - humidity was terrible

Really nice building, grounds and location. Very clean and tidy. So peaceful. Having the spa facilities is so good as well. Very relaxing stay which is just what we needed.

Room was excellent and bed was very large and comfortable. Breakfast wonderful and drink at the bar not too expensive. Unfortunately didnt use the spa but had a nosey in and it looked very nice. Beautiful little beer garden with an amazing view of the countryside.
