To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

CanadaI’ve stayed at another Apex hotel in Edinburgh which I found to be little more sparkly ckean. This could have a few cosmetic upgrades…curtains in need of cleaning, especially re-grouting in shower and a fresh lick of paint in cupboards and walls.
Convenient to Waverley Station. Easy to locate. Very friendly and helpful front desk staff as were the restaurant staff and happy I could get room service as well as pre order breakfast.

United KingdomEvery staff interaction was friendly and professional which started with David at Reception for check-in. All questions were helpfully answered with excellent recommendations. The rooms were comfortable and a higher standard of luxury than expected. The rooms and hotel were clean and comfortable. The spa facilities were clean, easy and delightful and the bar was lovely. After check-out, we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel with no hassles. As an added bonus, the location was just perfect with easy access to the city and local transport. As a disabled guest, this meant so much. In fact, a few of our party have mobility issues and the hotel was accessible and easy for all of us.

United KingdomOur room over looked on to bins and the noise of the bins in that area kept us up all night. flip flops should maybe be included for the spa as our feet were freezing walking around. Breakfast was nice however there could be more gluten free or buffet options for the price of it
The reception staff were brilliant. The girl that helped us during our stay was fabulous. The spa was nice. It was a great location to explore and return to the airport. Breakfast was nice. The room was nice and loved that there was a fridge.

United States of AmericaThe view we had was of the alley, but we didn’t really mind since they allowed us to check in very early so we could drop our things and go see the sights before we ran out of energy!
The staff were wonderful - they went over and above to compensate for a relatively minor inconvenience of having no cable to watch tele in the evening. They not only made our airport taxi arrangements, set up the wake-up call but packed us breakfast bags to go since we had a very early flight.

The elevator didn’t work for a day and kept changing when you got in from going up to going down and up for everyone which was inconvenient. Staff excellent. Location excellent. United Arab EmiratesThe sofa bed in the family room wasn't too comfortable but manageable for the 1 night we were staying. Also the fact that the room had two small windows very high up on the wall, no views, it was fine for a short break but would have been annoying if we were staying longer.
Location was great, the room was very clean and the fact that they can store your bags for a few days was perfect. The staff were very very nice and helpful too.
