Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomMy only gripe would be that the aircon system seemed to be locked and not adjustable which was frustrating considering how warm it was ☹️
The bed was super comfy and walking distance to the Bullring shopping centre! 😇 all of the facilities in the room; although we didn’t use many, would’ve been great should we have been staying longer! A gentleman called Ken checked us in on arrival and he was absolutely brilliant! My other half was exhausted after playing sport all morning and Ken was kind enough to get us both a drink whilst we waited!

Irelandstaff was very uninterested, i didn't feel like they made any eye contact. upon check in the only member of staff at reception was on a phone call so i had to wait several minutes to be addressed until he called to a colleague in the back room who finally came out and checked me in. again, didn't show much energy or motivation and barely made eye contact.
loved the size of the apartments for the cost, enjoyed the fresh carpet smell - clearly a newly developed property to a high standard and it shows

United KingdomThe only thing about our room was the electrics, one light kept flickering and the light switches was a little confusing.
Hotel service but with a mini kitchenette so feels like a little studio.

United KingdomThe corridor doors are a bit heavy but that’s the only negative
It was about a 15 minute walk from New Street station. Check in was very easy and the apartment itself was bigger than expected and very well presented.

United KingdomThe technology was a bit of a hassle. Not being able to use my own pot delayed my cooking and not having a separate microwave or toaster also delayed my cooking.
The decor was great, the bed was comfortable, the room was cosy and clean and it had everything we needed. Location is good. Staff were great and attentive and it was good value for money. I would definitely recommend staying here as I would stay again.

United KingdomThe location of the hotel, although central, was slightly further out than I expected. If you are travelling via Birmingham Snow Hill station it's ideal. For New Street, I'd recommend getting the tram right outside the station to Snow Hill (only a few stops) then walking the 4/5 minutes extra. They are also opening a Nisa Local next door soon which will be helpful as there aren't many convenience shops directly nearby.
I was expecting a very simple studio set up - a bed, a sofa, a kettle and fridge/microwave. What I arrived to was far beyond my expectations. The room was divided nicely into zones, creating a lounging/dining area in the kitchen and a comfortable bed with separate TV. The kitchen included an oven, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, coffeemaker, full sized sink, two hobs and a washing machine! It also had helpful extras like clothes washing tabs to use. The bathroom was thoughtfully designed and included RITUALS toiletries which was a lovely extra. Perfect shower and free filtered water available from the hallway to reduce plastic waste.

United KingdomThe only thing that must be adjusted in my opinion is the checkout time. 11 am is entirely too early. Standard checkout should be 1 pm late, check out up until 2 pm should be standard
During the refurbishment of our bathroom we needed to move out and stay at an apart hotel. It was a new concept but comfortable and in fact I thought it was the best. Adagio. However, since staying here my opinion has changed. This is now the best apart hotel in the UK.

United KingdomThe only thing that I didn't like was that I received a text message the day before to say that there was a £200 refundable deposit to pay when I arrived. I received it passed the time that I could cancel the reservation and book elsewhere so didn't have a choice. I did mention to the reception that wasn't great as I was travelling for work. I was told the reason they had to do it was because of people having parties. What happens if someone doesn't have £200 available to pay? I think there must be a better way to do that, a customer could be very embarrassed if they didn't have the funds to pay.
It was a very comfortable room and great to have so much space and the facilities!
