Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandStairs can be difficult for people with mobility issues - especially if you need to carry your luggage. I feel it would be beneficial to have noise mindfullness signage. The guests on my corridor did not respect their neighbours noise levels and stood in the hallway from very early in the morning speaking loudly so I do think the hotel management could benefit by having notices to help with this, thankfully that was only one night out of my 3 nights. Perhaps brighter wall colours in bedroom too, the walls are painted Black so a bit dark for my liking. Wifi was not connecting so I was unable to use the TV as it would not connect without wifi
Location is outstanding - walking distance to the Tube Station at Earls Court is a huge bonus & I was so grateful for this as I was out of the room for 12 - 14 hours per day. Room is comfortable and shower room was spotlessly clean. Large windows for natural light in my room was great. Lots of really great places to eat - I found a really lovely Lebanesse Restaurant on my First night and a Vegan Thai restaurant on my last night within walking distance to the hotel.

United KingdomToilet smelt of sewage and seat was hanging off. Single bed was in poor condition and sunk in the middle which made it uncomfortable to sit or lie on. No working lift to get up to the fourth floor with heavy luggage.
Location was excellent - Earl’s Court tube station just around the corner. Lots of shops and restaurants options too.

AustraliaThe walls were very thin. Staff were around late at night arguing and banging things about in the hallways. The bathroom flooded every-time you showered because the glass panel to deflect the shower water was not connected to the edge of the tub leaving puddles on the floor. You could feel every spring in the mattress.
Location was great - short distance to everything needed for a stay in London. Room size was excellent for the price paid

United KingdomObviously for the price there are a few negatives. I.e room small and no real view outside as I was in the basement. I could also hear people speaking in an adjacent room. No mirror in the bathroom but one just outside. As I said before- no real complaints for a solo traveller wanting a cheap room in the centre of London for work for just one night.
Great location, clean and good value for money with an ensuite bathroom/shower. Very easy to check-in with a key locker. Bed was comfortable and had a kettle/coffee nearby. No major complains for a solo traveller who doesn't spend much time in the room. Also, very close to Earls Court tube station, as well as McDonald's/KFC if needed.

United KingdomMattress was lumpy & very uncomfortable. Home with a very sore back as a result!! 🫣 The tiny sink in the bathroom had a screw nail protruding into the actual sink, extremely dangerous!!☹️ Room was of a very poor standard, very dark & drab decor. No headboard, no table lamps or indeed tables at the bedside. The stairs were quite steep but also quite dirty. Not a great first impression... The Lift we were told (upon arrival) hadn't been working for a while (We were on the 5th floor!!). 😩 Would have appreciated advance notice of this.
Good central location, Earl's Court Tube station was literally round the corner. Staff communication re: self check in/ door codes etc was good. Staff member rang after check out to see if everything was ok with regards to our stay. I took the opportunity to give her the feedback I have addressed via this forum. Fingers crossed management take the points raised on board and action them...

NetherlandsThe room was just not maintained very well, there were a lot of things broken or wrong in the room. - There was only a very small desk in the room to put your stuff, but it was already packed full of things. A TV stood on the desk that had no way to be plugged in because there were no wall sockets there. Also a water cooker that could not be plugged in because there were no sockets. - Also the bathroom was dirty and not maintained well, rust and dirt everywhere. The shower head could not stay up because the bar was broken. Doors of the shower did not close properly so the bathroom kept getting wet. Also the water from the sink was boiling hot (it had a sticker for caution about the hot water) but you could not wash your hands because it was so hot. - Room was extremely hot (stayed in the hottest week of the year so far) but could not open the door to the balcony for some fresh air. No ventilators in the room. - Only saw someone of the staff twice during my five day stay. There is a rice of paper at the reception with a number you can call if there’s a problem. But this made me feel a little unsafe.
The hotel was very accommodating when I contacted them before my stay about a few things, quick to respond and happy to help. The location is also amazing, Earl’s Court station is just around the corner and there’s a lot of places to eat and do some grocery shopping around. The neighborhood felt very safe to walk around alone at night as a woman. Complimentary bottles of water, tea bags etc in the room with a little kettle!

NigeriaAbsence of lifts/ elevators or bellhops - you dont want to be on the last floor. Thin walls - I could hear what was being discussed in the adjoining rooms, limited what I could converse in my room. No direct staff onsite to interface with - I had to call the Customer care line everytime to get basic things done. All my sockets stopped working and I couldnt get anyone onsite to fix it. Even a call to the customer care line still couldnt get it done. Checked out in the morning.

GermanySeveral items were below par. The bedding was marked with black streaks even though it was clean overall. The carpet was very stained. There was nothing except the bed and a plastic bucket chair in the room for seating. No coffee or milk was left in the room - just some tea bags and sugar sticks. No plug in the sink which was difficult when the shower failed to work - the temperature was stuck at 48degs and was scalding. I reported it and a new shower was fitted but the valve was still not functioning properly and I was unable to take a proper shower. The WiFi kept dropping off and so the tv was very pixelated and it wasn’t possible to watch Netflix. This was rectified when the property manager came to deal with the shower issue. There’s no lift in the property and the stairs are narrow winding and steep so it was a little bit more difficult to get my case up and down the second floor.
Great location just yards from the tube and shops and restaurants. Room was reasonable size with openable windows and a fan for comfort. Contact with staff was good. Felt safe in the area.

United KingdomMy room was on the top floor, so had to walk up many flights of stairs to get to it as no lift. Don't book here unless you're travelling very light, or don't mind a leg day workout. Couple in opposite room were being obscenely loud all night, and morning (she was very obviously faking), I didn't sleep a wink because of this. I got in touch with the hotel about this, but not sure if anything was done about it but the lady on the phone was nice. General light coming in through the window in the morning was a bit much after sleepless night too as blind wasn't good enough coverage. Those were my only 2 gripes really, for the location though, and the room I had, it was super.
Location 1 min walk from tube, toiletries and toothbrush/paste provided, manager helped me with my case up the stairs and explained everything about getting in and out etc, tea/coffee and little chocolates provided as snacks, nice view from the top floor, nice decor, didn't properly try the shower but looked ok, check-in experience was easy, Netflix access on the TV, locks on the doors. Hotel service was great, I had a WhatsApp contact in case of any issues, got a call aswell to check everything was OK so that was appreciated.
