Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyAbsolute recommendation! The staff were absolutely lovely, always ready to help. The room had everything I needed and the view was spectacular. The kitchen was spotless, which is something you rarely find in similar places. Only downside: the walls of the sleep huts are paper thin, so if your neighbor snores or is on the phone - you're right there with them. All in all a wonderful place to stay for travelers on a budget.

United KingdomThere was nothing I didn't like.
The view was amazing. The hut was small but comfortable and perfect for a short break. Nancy was extremely helpful and friendly. Would I go back? Yes I would, for a short break. Perfect for young people.

United KingdomThe rooms are clean, functional , bit dated, and ours had a slightly musty smell, but for all the time we were in there, it didn't detract from our stay . The shower is brilliant ...... like a power shower. Again, great views from the huts .
The location is fabulous. The views are out of this world . 8-10 min walk into Lamlash village and shops ,restaurants, pubs, etc . Lamlash Lodge is lovely with great kitchen facilities and a comfortable lounge. The gardens are perfect to enjoy the stunning views. Staff were friendly and super helpful . The owner is very charming and kind ,even when I misplaced/lost my key and had to disturb her late in the evening . She kindly opened up the lodge and gave me another key without it being a problem . Excellent hosting and very much appreciated 👏

United KingdomThe only thing would be for a mirror to be placed at the bottom of the driveway so that oncoming traffic from the left can be seen.
Very comfortable and perfect location for touring the area. Staff encountered were very friendly and helpful. The room in the lodge was ideal for our short break

United KingdomNo sitting room . Kitchen area great but not enough space for many people to cook at once or sit at once. Most people seemed to take food to their rooms but no where to sit in rooms .
View was lovely . Location was ok. Room ok.

United Stateswould have like to have had 2 rooms together. Quite a bit of distance to restaurants, town of Lamlash, but gave us good exercise. Shower stalls worse than tiny. Main kitchen a bit far from the sleep huts.
Great view of the ocean/bay in front of the facility. Rooms quite comfortable, though small

United KingdomHuts are in beautiful spot, lovely garden at front. Staff were excellent. Never used kitchen but it looked well equipped. Room is just what you need. My heater wasn't working okay but it wasn't too cold so not a big deal. Everything else in room was fine. Great transport links. Getting around was easy.

United KingdomThis is really the only thing I can think of we had a great time, the bed was cosy and comfortable but a rather soft, it was fine as myself and friend prefer soft but if I was with my partner he would have found it uncomfortable.
We were in a deluxe double, lovely and spacious, though if you were a tall man it might feel a bit tight as we were in the attic space the ceilings were lowers than other rooms. The window was fabulous with two little chairs to sit and relax looking at the fantastic view. I also really appreciated the addition of peppermint tea in the tea caddy, nice to have at the end of the day.

United KingdomRooms themselves were dated needed a good dusting. The locks on the doors are very loud when they shut. Other guests throwing glass bottles into the recycling at ungodly hours. Information on the reception board was incorrect e.g. said keys would be hanging up but they weren't.
Friendly staff. Shared kitchen facilities were very clean and useful. Views were excellent. Lots of parking space. Performant shower. Comfortable and clean bed.

United KingdomNothing really. But if you are a light sleeper you might be wakened by neighbours. I slept well though maybe next door didn't because of my snoring
Rooms basic but adequate had everything you needed. Maid service was there if required. Staff all really nice garden lovely to sit and look at view at night with a refreshment. Communal kitchen spotless. Felt very comfortable being a solo traveller . A lovely 15 minute leisurely walk into village along the coast line.

United KingdomSome of the other visitors staying in the sleep huts would have loud conversation right outside the huts from as early as 7am almost every morning we were staying. This woke us up and made it very difficult to get back to sleep. The shared kitchen is great however, it really could be doing with another couple of pots/pans/frying pans as there are only 2/3 of these for everyone using them. Some smaller chopping boards and a few more knives wouldn't go a miss either.
Almost everything was great. Rooms clean and comfortable. Shared kitchen was also kept clean by the guests using it and the staff were very friendly.

United KingdomThe bathroom in the room (Double Room with Sea View) was almost impossible to shower standing up, and also splashed water everywhere, in the case of this room only for baths.
The place is well located for those traveling by car, which was my case. It's very comfortable and has an incredible view with some good restaurants, cafés and pubs nearby.
