Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomI only gave the location a 9, only because we are of advancing years and found the hill up to the hotel a struggle. But the view from the beautiful kept garden makes it worthwhile
Carlos and Sylvia were perfect hosts, nothing too much bother.

United KingdomThe hotel was immaculate, the owners made us feel as we were home from home. It was a little hilly, but, we should have done more homework. However, with the excellent bus service we would never stay anywhere else when visiting Jersey.
The breakfast was first class. Many, many options available, first class choice.

CanadaFor those who can't or won't walk for 10 minutes to get to the downtown area, the location may not be ideal.
Everything. The hotel operators went above and beyond to address every facet of our week-long stay. The premises were spotless. The breakfast was ample and well served.

United KingdomI'll start by saying that, In summary, the 'negatives' aren't really negatives; just minor observations that you, as a prospective guest, might benefit from knowing :0) None of this spoiled the stay or detracted from the enjoyment of our time in Jersey. First, being on the top floor we suffered from the lack of a lift; so if you're not very fit or mobile try to get a room on the first or second floors (for our American friends, that means the second or third floors; in any case, one or two levels above where you get breakfast). (Comment: I don't know if there are ground floor rooms. There may be. I didn't take note.) Being an older property, the ceilings are quite high and so there are lots of stairs between floors. we coped ok; just be sure that when you leave the room you have everything... (Leather armchairs are thoughtfully placed on the landings between floors so you can sit and take a breather for a few moments if needed. (And you're probably on holiday anyway, so what's the rush?) Second, the parking situation is limited. A lot of the people staying when we were there appeared not to have cars so it wasn't an issue. The hotel is on the end of a terraced crescent of private houses so parking is limited to a restricted area out front. Most of the time we appeared to be the only ones with a car, so it wasn't a problem for us. We left the key with reception in case the car needed to be moved. (But it never was.) B
Location was great; a little way out of town - a 15 min walk that's a bit harder on the way back because the last part is uphill. But marvellous views over St Helier - especially if you're on the top floor (fourth; three levels up from where you come in), like we were (see photo from our window). The room and bed were very comfortable and the room spotlessly clean. Bathroom facilities excellent. Carlos and Sylvina are marvellous hosts; friendly and helpful throughout. Breakfast was great; basically whatever you want cooked to order and served piping hot within a couple of minutes.

United KingdomNothing!! We can't fault this hotel.
ALL the staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. If we needed anything we only had to ask and it was done. The breakfasts were lovely - freshly cooked and plentiful. We loved the pre dinner drinks we were able to have on the little terrace overlooking the sea. The standard of cleanliness was exceptional. The location was quiet - about 10 mins walk from St Helier.
