Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomOnly minor issue was that both baths were really high, so getting into the shower was a challenge and so could have done with a hand rail.
The apartment was in a fantastic location - a few minutes from everything. Lots of shops, bars and restaurants near by. It was beautifully furnished, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Bedrooms were large and comfortable. Felt very safe and secure too.

United KingdomSlightly put off initially by the narrowness of Peter Lane but quickly got used to this and found it well lit at night (when approaching from Market Street anyway). It was a shame that the lift/elevator in the apartment block remained broken throughout our stay.
An excellent location for reaching all the great places to visit in York, and also close to the railway station, shops and restaurants. The furnishings and facilities inside the flat are mostly high quality and well-maintained. There was a supply of tea (Yorkshire, of course) and coffee provided which was much appreciated. The three smart TVs and wifi at the flat are a bonus.

United KingdomSlight miscommunication about getting into the place, also charging if arriving after a certain time. We travelled from London and were stuck in traffic for 6 hours, luckily our friends got there quicker. Avoid access via alley way I'd say, go round the long way if you have a bit of luggage. Closest car park is extortionately expensive, Peel Street is OK but not close close if you happen to have a lot of luggage. No view to speak off and super noisy pigeons on roofs all round. We'd stay again though.
Indeed a central location. Apartment was lovely, nice bedrooms and a bathroom each for the 2 couples. The room with the ensuite was bigger and nabbed by our friends who arrived before us. It's on the second floor and there's a lift if needed. We'd stay again as we wanted to have a "home" environment whilst with our friends rather than staying in a hotel. Excellent WiFi!
