Staff were extremely friendly and very accommodating. We stayed for two nights and loved our time in this hotel. Location was perfect and within walking distance to all local restaurants and bars and also the train station. Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again.

The bathroom door locked itself closed on my final night. It took until 11am the next morning to open the door. There were no other facilities offered to have a shower or to get my wash bag and contact lenses out of the locked bathroom. I had to wait for the contractor to come so that I could gain entry to my stuff. The reception staff tried their best but it was very inconvenient. I am just glad that I was not locked IN the bathroom!

My single room was like a cupboard and sold as a seaview - you had to peer round the corner to see the view. It was very hot and stuffy - no air conditioning so had to have the window open. The hotel was quiet so I think they could have upgraded me. V expensive for size of room.

The situation was perfect. Staff very friendly and helpful. Decor was v good.

Single room 106 I stayed was very small with small window in the corner making it very oppressive. The room was was very hot no fan available to cool the room down - so has to sleep with windows open- with noisy seafront road so didn’t get much rest. Also as someone mentioned the shower works only partially you get hot water and it takes ages to figure it out, the walls are indeed paper thin so you can hear the people next door. To add to the sleepless night they managed to mess up my hot breakfast order even though I specifically asked for it at time of booking and check in. I left sleep deprived and hungry .Not suitable for business travel unless management get a grip on those shortfalls fast . So far it falls very short of basic comfort and certainly of 4 stars level. Shame- as I wanted to give an independent hotel a chance over the big chains .

Good location with friendly staff at reception. Property had undergone refurbishment and they had clearly put a lot of effort to make it nice. It is very central and away from the havoc of pier bars so very good location

Very disappointing stay and definitely WOULD NOT recommend this Hotel

Upon trying to use the shower for the first time, the water was cold, even though the water had been left to flow for some time. On reporting this issue, the receptionist (Katie) came to the room to further investigate and confirm the problem, then arranged access to a shower in another available room, which we gladly accepted. She stated that she would report the issue to the manager once she came on duty. When the manager arrived, we were informed that the indicators for hot and cold water were operating in reverse, and that hot water would be available if turning the temperature control to cold. Upon acting on the manager's suggestion and making numerous attempts to set the shower to an acceptable temperature level, this proved impossible: the water temperature was either cold or scorchingly hot, meaning that we were only able to shower if patiently using the cold water. We therefore feel that the shower facilities in the room were totally inadequate and need to be addressed as soon as possible. As the shower temperature controls had been set in reverse, surely this should have been cause in itself to recall a plumber to address. We also feel disappointed in the very limited response of the manager, as surely this issue should've been addressed by promptly arranging a room change and further investigating the shower facilities. The double rooms offered at this hotel are in our opinion very small and basic, particularly given the costing and apparent 4 star rating, which do not compare well with many other similarly rated hotels that we have stayed at in various locations in the UK and overseas. Though we enjoyed our visit around Eastbourne, Beachy Head, the Seven Sisters and Rye, we feel that the accommodation and facilities offered by the hotel were disappointing and a real 'let down'. The issue with the shower facilities was very annoying, and thus we don't feel able to recommend the hotel.

Initially, we were allocated a very small room with a partial inland view (with walls protruding outwards from each side of the window thus limiting the view) though Layla / Leila (Receptionist) eventually agreed to change our room. She was very apologetic when we checked out, having heard about our other issues. Katie was very helpful and supportive. The breakfast was fairly good. The location is good, being located to the west of the pier in a quieter area, with the beach, pier and town centre being easily accessible. There was free wifi once this started working (we were informed that this was not available on the first day and was being addressed).

The shower water pressure was a bit low but only a minor thing. Knowhere to plug my electric toothbrush in the bathroom.

The whole hotel seems to have recently been refurbished so is in excellent order.. The room had an excellent view of the pier and beach, In fact I could see the sea while laying in bed very relaxing. The breakfast was also very good with plenty of staff to take your order. The hotel does not have a car park but you can buy a parking voucher (£2) that allows you to park for a day in any of the spaces in the nearby parking zone. Staff were all very helpful, polite and attentive.
