Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing, it offered everything we needed.
we had two families, there is plenty of space for everyone, the house is very well equipped and felt like a home from home. I even managed to make a full Sunday roast with ease thanks to the two ovens and many rings! Small touches like umbrellas and wood for the fire made all the difference. Behind the house there is a tennis court and the owners kindly lent us equipment to play. There is a stunning forest too, which the kids thoroughly enjoyed. Also, there is a playground across the road. The amazing washing & drying facilities meant we didn’t have to take any dirty clothes home with us! I would highly recommend this house for groups, especially if there are children as there is plenty for them to do and explore.

United KingdomNot that it was an issue for me but just want to report that the television in 1 of the bedrooms didn't work. It was the first bedroom on your right when coming up the stairs
I was there with my family. Was very happy with the downstairs bedroom as my mother is 91 and can't negotiate stairs anymore. We all enjoyed our stay and were quite impressed with the house

United KingdomOne think I would like to see is a gate at the entry. Since the house is on main road, we had to constantly keep an eye on the kids just in case they would run towards it. Also it would be nice to have more cleaning products on hand so we could clean after ourselves better (didn't think to take stuff like that with us)
We loved our stay. The location is amazing, house was spacious for 6 adult and 4 children. Well equipped kitchen and great book selection. The owner was very friendly and helped us with local activities.

United KingdomIt was not a problem for us, but Airlie only has free view, so no Sky etc if you need or are addicted to alternative TV.
Location is excellent to see the area. Airline house is a great holiday home and very spacious, good car parking.

United KingdomThe log burner in living room wasn’t working which would have been good but adequate central heating in the house. The kitchen is dated but great size and very well stocked, perhaps some nice wine glasses would be good addition.
great location and very comfortable house, all en suite large bedrooms. Main living and dining rooms are very spacious and has a good front garden. Beds were comfortable and good size. Hosts were helpful and live outside but we didn’t need anything as all we needed was there. Some lovely quirky artworks around the house, some by our host.

United KingdomProperty very accessible, ramp from parking to front door which was useful for our elderly Mother, would benefit from a shower cubicle on ground floor.
Friendly owners, live nearby. The property is very spacious and easily caters for 8 adults, all rooms en-suite, and spacious, large reception room, separate dining room with access to front garden. Garden and outside seating area, we used this frequently. Ample Parking. Several attractions were within easy reach from the accommodation we visited Killen, Callander, Deanston distillery, Arts and crafts in Doune and Alpaca trekking in Thornnhill. Very comfortable, clean property. Very peaceful during evening/night.

United KingdomLighting in living room very poor; pots, pans and casseroles in kitchen very poor, thankfully I brought a large casserole and metal dishes otherwise I couldn't have catered for the eight of us; glasses were insufficient.
Location great; bedrooms and bathrooms excellent; comfy settees in living room; dining area excellent; cooker and oven easy to use. There was plenty of space for the eight of us.

United KingdomThis is rather a querky property with lots of ornaments that I'm sure some people will like. The kitchen and some bathroom floors needed more thorough cleaning. The kitchen was serviceable but could do with an update. The dishwasher was not working. This property is not suitable for wheelchair users, due to gravel in parking area, steep uneven slope with grout in paving missing, no rails by the toilet in the bathroom in the ground floor bedroom and they couldn't access bath. Appropriately placed rails, a secure toilet seat and a wet room are required to make it fully appropriate for disabled people. This could be achieved in this very large bathroom. Garden steps very deep with broken slabs.
Large bedrooms that have been updated. The building is substantial with thick walls that make it quiet. The heating was effective and heated the house up quickly. There were plenty of seats in the lounge and the dining room was a nice light space. The bedrooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Dogs are allowed. Internet had good fast speed.

United KingdomWhen we arrived there was a smell of dog and cigarette smoke in the house. So we went out and purchased lots of air conditioners and sprays to remove this. There were cobwebs and dust in the house. And the fridge had not been properly cleaned. The main living room was pleasant but the kitchen was dated, a little eclectic in equipment with an old fridge minus a door serving as one of the cupboards. It seems that this property probably worked ok as a b&b where the property could be continually aired and where the kitchen was not seen, but as a whole property holiday let it needs some further attention. It’s a shame as we still had a good holiday as the area was perfect.
Location was wonderful, next to lots of beautiful walks, lochs and outdoor activities. The beds were comfortable and it was nice to have one bathroom per room.
