The rooms were 70s style, green bath etc. Couldn’t turn on cold water tap to get a shower and all taps a problem. Rooms are not as advertised. They are renovating the rooms (250 rooms) and are starting at the top, unfortunately we weren’t there 😪Food and staff very good.

The Country House Hotel was very disappointing and the name did not match the accommodation on offer. The staff were very good and were doing the best with what they had available to them Check in was 30 minutes late. Restaurant was closed so had to go out to eat. Room basic and not well maintained. Shower with a curtain was sloped roof and husband couldn’t stand up straight. Curtains hanging off the rail, poor decoration. Sockets not working, a chair for a bedside table. The whole building looked neglected and it wasn’t clear if rooms were occupied or abandoned. Curtains half closed etc We were not aware when booking that breakfast was continental (which didn’t matter) however the description of continental usually includes bakery items croissants, bread, meat, cheese, fruit. I would describe this breakfast as fend for yourself. We were signposted to an unmanned function room. Down one side was a drinks machine for tea and coffee juice (apple or apple) a milk dispenser(empty) a table with a choice of 2 cereals cornflakes or rice crispies. A cool counter top with a large bowl of yoghurt (no label) a bowl of apples a bowl of oranges a toaster brown/white bread jam and marmalade. We had to go back to reception to ask for milk for cereals. The staff didn’t know where things were and it took some time before 2 jugs of milk were put out and the staff then left again. There were no notices for customers with information about what was on offer or how to work the machines. It was pretty dire. Even as a basic offering it was poor and not very good quality. For the whole time we were in the dining room we did not see one member of staff and no one came to see how guests were getting on The location of the hotel is ideal if you are going to the airport but there are no facilities nearby so Prestwick or Ayr is where you will need to go to eat. If you want a very basic stop over cheap and cheerful then this is the place.

Our booking was for Dinner Bed & Breakfast, whilst en-route we were called by Reception to inform us that they would not be serving us Dinner that evening as there were not enough guests staying to justify paying a Chef !!!! This is a large hotel and I don't think this is acceptable. The Breakfast experience was similar to my time in the Military with a huge dining hall and the most basic lay out with no frills and little choice.

The original building is beautiful with some lovely ornate features. The large extension buildings are not so nice and looking tired and shabby in places.

There was a lot of noise during the night - you couldn't avoid hearing the conversations next door, the walking along the corridors, doors slamming shut.

Really, really needs an info sheet and map. Building is a bit of a maze, and we had mixed messages about dinner. Free wifi is only in common areas - you pay for it if you want it in your room. Our room (2005) had cosmetic damage that could easily be fixed. Three star but you get what you pay for.

We had a cheap room that was still clean and comfortable enough. We’d even stay here again, but…

The room was a little dated, a few tiles missing on the bathroom wall, and an old peach coloured bath suite.

I booked the room for a birthday visit for my sister. I asked for a card in the room, and found a card, banner, and bottle of fizz. It made the stay special, and was a really kind way to do a little extra.

Outdated bathroom. Dirt coming out of cold tap and slow flow of water. It's not good 2 ask every week for a room on the ground floor as I use it every week week with work.

Comfortable room after I asked again to be on the ground floor as I suffer from chronic back pain..I feel an inconvenience asking now every time. I do book the hotel every week.

I have bath pain and I request the ground floor. I was told I was on the first floor. This is not ideal. Furthermore I asked to be moved and this was not an option even though rooms were empty. I book this hotel every week for a few years now. This is not good. Outdated bathroom. Noisy cold tap. No chair. Such a basic poor room compared to what I used to get. I may need to look at other hotels in area. Very concerned about this room I was offered. Strong smell of bleach in bathroom.
