Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThe blind in the room was broken and we couldn't open it for the duration of our stay. The room was a bit dusty and had stains on the wall underneath the blind.
Staff was very friendly and welcoming. The common bathroom and kitchen area was kept clean. The breakfast supplies were nice and they had alternative milk like Oat & Soya milk which was great.

IrelandThe only issue we encountered was the stairs, as the wife uses a stick & stairs are always an issue for her. This is no fault of The Avenue, but Jim was so apologetic and would have moved us if there was a room available.
JIm is a lovely bloke. Kept thanking us for chosing The Avenue & he really left us treat it like home.

New ZealandStairs were initially a challenge, especially with a larger case, but we got used to them.
Shared kitchen and dining/lounge area was brilliant. Generous breakfast provisions, and a generous amount of cooking equipment and additional grocery provisions all in excellent condition. Our top floor room was private and a good size, with a 180 degree street view.

Great location. Only a couple of minutes walk to the nearest bus stop a few minutes from the city centre but lovely and quiet. Rooms and public areas spotless. Good selection of food for breakfast in the morning.

United KingdomThe accommodation was clean, tidy, and perfect for our overnight stay in Belfast. It was in a good location, close to the George Best Airport, and the SSE Arena (which was perfect, as we were over for the Ice Hockey). The bed was comfy, and clean, and ample towels were provided for our overnight stay.

CanadaThe only minor issue, and very minor, is that we were not able to see the TV channels as they were scrambled. We were not there to watch TV so not an issue
Quiet family oriented neighbourhood, clean, well stocked kitchen and WIFI worked fine. We stayed at 94 Templemore which has four rooms. Rooms 1 and 2 on the second floor and 3 and 4 on 3rd (top floor). The first floor (ground floor) had full kitchen with 2 stoves, microwave, fridge, sink, washer/dryer as well as eating area and living room. The kitchen was freshly stocked each day. The unit is about a 25 minute walk from Belfast city centre which was nice exercise to start and end our days. We walked to both Titanic museum and George Best Airport as well as City Centre. Finding our way to the airport was a bit of challenge and in hindsight we should have taken a bus but an adventure to start the day.

UkraineWhile the room was generally clean and tidy, we found it to be a bit on the smaller side, which made it a bit challenging to move around comfortably, especially with luggage. Another issue we encountered was with the heating system. It seemed that the heating was only turned on for the night, meaning that if we returned from an evening walk, we had to wait for some time until the heating kicked in and the room warmed up. However it wasn't freezing cold, and this delay was mostly a bit inconvenient rather than something critical. It was still warm inside. Despite these minor drawbacks, our stay at Avenue Belfast was satisfactory. Thank you for the hospitality and attention to our needs.
The room was not only nice and clean but also provided a comfortable atmosphere for our stay. A little tiny, but had everything we needed. Accessibility was not bad, making it pretty convenient for us to explore the surrounding area without any hassle. It's just 20 mins walk to the city center. One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast setup. The option to make our own breakfast allowed us to personalize our meals according to our preferences, adding a nice touch to our mornings. Needless to say we didn't have to wake up early to have a scheduled breakfast Overall, we had a pleasant and enjoyable stay at Avenue Belfast, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient accommodation option. Thanks to the owner at Avenue Belfast for his hospitality and for making our stay memorable.

United KingdomTwo flights of stairs up to room number 4 are difficult for my weak knees. A room on the first floor would have been better but to be fair I didn't ask for this. Shower fitting to the wall in room 4 is loose and about to come away from the wall.

GermanyI really enjoyed my time in Belfast. In terms of its architecture, the guesthouse was not just a place to recover from excursions. The atmosphere around it was perfect. Breakfast and personal care made me feel safe and welcome. A spacious kitchen with washing machine, a cute room with everything you need. An elegant modern dining room and living room left nothing to be desired. I am grateful for the encounter with the landlord and the excellent care I received with questions and concerns. For me an unforgettable result. I'll be back soon.
