Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. IrelandProbably the worst managed property we've stayed in in over 20 years of holiday rental. 40mins before check in we still didn't have our entry code, had to ring to get it and had been travelling 9hrs at that stage. Left standing outside for 1.5.hrs as lock box was broken. Drug dealing going on all day long outside the gate. 7 people and only 5 bath towels and 2 hand towels left. We had 2 buy our own, delivered some more 2 days into our stay. Smell of marijuana throughout the building, dirty towels left in washing machine, all the dishes left in dish washer, 1 pillow on each bed, lots of spares, but no extra pillow cases. Beautiful apartment in an extremely dark and unsafe area. Apartment was freezing cold and took several hours to heat up. Sound insulation was non existent and right beside a busy road. Bin stores were a disgrace with nappies thrown everywhere. Lift broken down half way thru our stay. Had to ask several times for my deposit to be returned.

AustraliaI refer to my previous comments, this is truly the worst property we have ever stayed in & we have travelled all over the world.
We didn’t enjoy staying here at all, there are far too many negatives to list. Apart from being covered in bites from the bed to which we had to sleep on the couch, non working toilets , filthy oven, no tv aerial for watching free to air TV but worst of all was the apartment is on the 3rd floor with no working lift in the building, according to residents it hasn’t worked for 4 months & the property didn’t bother to inform us of this most vital detail My husband is almost 70 with mobility issues so if we hadn’t had some nice neighbours to help us up the stairs with our luggage we couldn’t have stayed here. Couldn’t put up with all of this any longer, So we didn’t stay our full time , we left & found other accommodation. The list just goes on and on. I seriously do not recommend this property in any way.
