Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWhen looking a little closer, there was a few marks on the wall and somewhere a drink had been spilled which with a good thorough clean wouldn't be noticeable. The light fitting was very dusty too. These thing did not deter us though but I can see how nit picky picky soms people may be fussy about it .
The style and aesthetics of the hotel and the history. The room was lovely decorated. The staff were very welcoming and chatty.

United KingdomWe had a leak in the bathroom around the sink and toilet, we did tell reception and when we got back it had been dealt with. The room was cold when we got in, couldn’t get air con/ heater to work. Reception had no spare blankets but they did bring a heater to the room quickly. The kettle was in the wardrobe and a tiny table to put it on to make a cuppa in the morning. On the plus side the room was really big.
The property served its purpose, needs freshening up, looking tired.

United KingdomThe hotel was not clean at all and part of the rooms has dust and spiderwebs. The facilities are very old and need repairs / replacement including toilets and bathroom.
Good location, wasn’t too expensive so I got what I paid for. The hotel staff was helpful to move us to a next room when we found one of the toilet was broken on our room.

United KingdomThe hotel is in need of decoration, staircases and landings in need of a good clean ( however wasn't a big issue as the room was clean) There was 6 of us in the party but not enough cutlery for us all ( we didn't ask for extra as didn't really need it) but it should be there. The room got very warm and the aircon didn't appear to be working.
Group of 6 family ladies aged 27- 60 celebrating a big birthday. Room on 1st floor, room 10, 2 double beds and 2 large sofa beds. Room was clean and had a veiw over the Albert. Beds were comfortable and the bedding was spotless. Staff were 1st class ( well done gentlemen) The room had a small kitchen so we could have coffee etc, which doubled up as a dressing /ironing room. Towels replaced when requested as we were there 3 nights. Anything we requested from reception was bought to the room in very good time. Location was great, off at James Street station and in the hotel in minutes. We had read some poor reviews recently so wasn't sure what we were going into but it was lovely and good value for money.

United KingdomThe toilet in the room didn't work and our room (23) had quite a bit of damage in it ( paint pulled off furniture, leather off the settee) but we still had a good time. We have stayed before and not seen this level of disrepair in other rooms.
The staff were all lovely, check-in was easy. bag storage was easy.

United KingdomThe hotel building is lovely but the interior is most definitely ready for a revamp and a really good clean. And the beds need much better pillows. They were so flat and thin and only one each on the bed. The jacuzzi bath also didn’t work but that wasn’t too much of a problem for us but could be for other guests.
The location was absolutely brilliant. Perfect for the docks, Matthew street and Liverpool one shopping. All within 5 mins walk. The reception staff were great, especially one in particular who unfortunately we didn’t get his name. But he was so friendly, funny and went out of his way for us. Our room was very spacious with a small kitchen which was well equipped.

United KingdomThe room wasn’t as clean as we’d hoped… there were bits of labels and flower petals on the floor still coming from under the bed. The shower was difficult to use, we had to turn the temperature gauge to turn the shower on because the two dials were too close together… the curtain was hanging off the rail and we only had 4 hangers for 4 guests in the wardrobe… we were also inbetween two rooms with a hen party so we didn’t get much sleep as they were running through the corridors to each others rooms and playing music till the early hours
The location was great and the staff were fantastic
