“Within an easy walk of the main shopping area of Newbury, Chequers is a quirky old hotel with comfortable rooms, I think maybe an old coaching inn? Breakfast was good, with a self service cooked selection and a continental table. Not everything on the menu was available for dinner, but we had a lovely meal of sea bass and sticky toffee pudding.”
