“The breakfast was as expected, very good.”

  • West Lodge Hotel Review score: 8.7

“The situation was super – quiet and rural with a lovely little garden at the back. The proprietors and family were very pleasant and helpful. If you pointed out something wrong, they seemed willing to do something about it. When I found the bed so hard I had very little sleep, they provided a duvet for me to put under the bottom sheet. The breakfast was excellent, with every possible taste catered for. My impression was that the proprietors were fairly new to the game and I really wish them well, but there were a lot of things amiss. On the plus side, it was very cheap and the website did say they didn't serve any meals except breakfast, which we were ok with. 'Hotel'? It was really more a guest house with a licence.”
