The bed wasn't very comfortable, a bit too convex for my taste ...

The hotel location couldn't be better. It sits on the river itself overlooking the castle and old town. The hotel has a riverside terrace where you can enjoy the views and a glass of the local wine. Clisson itself straddles the river, with bars and cafes on the side where the hotel is and the castle, historic old town and great views on the other side. Our evening meal was really enjoyable with truly different dishes to taste along with another local wine! Breakfast was just as enjoyable in a nice unrushed environment. We will definitely be back!

We only stayed one night on the way back to Nantes Airport. We chose to get some breakfast in one of the local cafés after checking out, but hadn't realised everything is shut on Mondays. The hotel could only offer us a 3 course lunch which was too much after the wonderful meal we'd had the night before.

The location was beautiful. The rooms were very comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Parking is also very convenient.

Personally found the food menu too restrictive, and a little too fancy. But that might just be me. Honestly struggling to think of any negatives - maybe could have done with a fridge for in-room drinks?

Location is unbelievable. Clisson has such a lovely town centre. We abandoned all plans to use it just as a base, and chilled there instead. Could have stayed longer in this relaxed atmosphere. We had a river/chateau-facing room and balcony. Superb! Good sized room with effective but near-silent air-conditioning.

The sloping roof of our room, which meant no view, or a very restricted view at best. This was not clear from the room description. The bathroom mirror was faulty and was flickering throughout our 3 night stay despite reporting it early on in our stay.

The spacious room and lovely bathroom with excellent shower. The restaurant with its excellent food and which had a stunning view of the chateau. The pool was very refreshing after a busy day sightseeing. The great location was excellent for the local places of interest.

Staff were friendly and helpful and the location with a secure car park were excellent.

The hotel was very nice with an outdoor pool and a brilliant view of the castle. There is a lovely courtyard where you can take your meals by the river there is private parking which is very convenient

Food and drink over priced eg 16 euros for breakfast. The surly waitress in the restaurant. Seating in the bedroom uncomfortable.

Great location and room with balcony overlooking the river and chateau was perfect. Breakfast on the terrace was excellent. What a find this hotel is in such a lovely location and with parking too.

We had a very nice stay. The location is excellent, facilities and spa clean and resourceful. Breakfast is rich, tasteful and has a lot of healthy choices.

AC was not functioning and the weather was very hot. At least you can open the window. Price was quite high, but I understand it had to be because of the event happening.

The staff was very friendly, helpful and spoke almost perfect english. Pool was fantastic, water was refreshingly warm. Breakfast was okay. Location is perfect, with great view from the windows.

Minor irritations only that didn't detract from the pleasure of the hotel at all. Missed having drawers to put my clothes in - don't like living out of a suitcase. Missed having hand cream for after washing my hands, and hair conditioner. Didn't bother packing either as they are normally part of 4* bathrooms.

Had a very comfortable room with an excellent view of the River Sevre and the castle.

Everything was wonderful.

A beautiful hotel in a lovely riverside location. Close to everything that you may need or want to see. So much to do within the town.. as well as river walk/run/ cycle.
