Very noisy in the very early morning with street sweepers, garbage trucks, traffic noise.

Great location, close to metro and walking distance to old town. Small superette next door (with alcohol) and patisserie not far were very convenient. Beautifully presented renovated room with view over street. A small issue in the bathroom was fixed promptly and effectively. Would stay again if visiting Lyon.

Friendly staff. Safe entry /exit. Close to centre and Christmas market. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Convenience store right beside it for waters etc.

This is an exceptional hotel. From the warm, caring staff who cannot do enough for you, to it's location beside Vieux Lyon and proximity to the metro station for onward access to Rhone Express and Airport, it exceeded my expectations. Even though my room faced the street there was absolutely no noise at night. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and with plenty of space for a solo traveller. The Continental breakfast is good value. The hotel is in a lovely area within walking distance of cafe's, shops and restaurants. Would highly recommend it.

Very good location, close to everything, quiet, clean room, it has a vintage look that I really liked and the reason I chose this hotel. It's inside an old nice building. The reception staff was nice and check in and check out very fast and easy. Will def come back. A bit pricey for just 1 night but it is what it is considering I booked a night before.

You need to know there is a lift, but you have to go up three steps with your luggage before accessing it, in case that is a problem for anyone. The hotel part of the building actually starts on the second floor. Also, it is NOT an easy walk from the train station for some of us, BUT is a cheap taxi ride.

Staff were exceptionally helpful and kind. They went out of their way to make sure our needs were taken care of - allowing early check-in of luggage - calling taxis - providing maps and advice. Our bed was firm, as requested.

The ONLY issues we ran into were 1) we had too much luggage to fit comfortably into a room that size; and 2) the floor of the shower was slippery; I would suggest that installing a short grab bar next to the shower door might be a good idea.

Gaia and her husband were warmly welcoming, helpful, and informative. The neighborhood was one block from the river, within walking distance of major landmarks, excellent restaurants, and whatever services one might need. There was even a corner grocery right next door. Beds were very comfortable, and breakfast was excellent.

Hotel Vaubecour was comfortable and clean. It was in a great location to walk to all the sites around Lyon. Staff were friendly and helpful with anything you needed. Breakfast was delicious and great value. Would stay again if in Lyon.

Rooms were a little small, despite being lovely! The breakfast was delicious but perhaps more choice of meats/cheeses would have been nice.

The location was fantastic and the hotel was really easy to find. The rooms were clean and well-furnished. Staff were really friendly, offering to keep our luggage before we checked out - they also provided a detailed map of the area so we could easily find attractions around Lyon.

Gaining access to the hotel which is located on the second floor took a little getting used to on the first day, but after that, everything was fine.

Excellent location - very close to Lyon Centre with an easy walk to Vieux Lyon and lovely walking routes along the Saone and the Rhone. My daughter and I really liked the breakfast - french and very authentic.

The room was very small.

It was in a central location and was very clean. The bathroom was well equipped and functioned perfectly. The bed and pillows were comfortable and we were able to open the windows if we wanted fresh air. The owner was able to give us very good advice for places to see and how to get around Lyon.

It may have been helpful to have some space to hang our clothes.

We loved the location and the feeling we were in a renovated ancient building. The hosts and their staff were welcoming and very helpful. We followed their recommendations several times with great results. Also, and very wonderful, the hot chocolate experience was fabulous! Xavier gave instructions as to how to make a paste of chocolate before mixing in the rest of the hot milk.

There was nothing I did not like. Maybe, it was a bit noisy but that's just normal for staying downtown.

The location, the staff, the cleanliness, the interior design and the room layout where simply awesome. One of my best hotel stays ever. Super awesome!

Weather was warm 85F so needed windows open. It was a quiet street. With the windows open it could still be noisy. We adjusted and slept okay.

Location was excellent! Wonderful area. Walkable and in the middle of everything. Wonderful old building with the French storybook feel. Beautifully updated room.
