Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

SwitzerlandWe stayed in Tours as a two-day stopover on the road to Mt Saint Michel, and this apartment was a perfect match. It's located on the outskirts of Tours, in a residential area, right on the bank of the river Cher (couldn't stop humming "I've got you babe"). It faces straight East, full of light, with large kitchen, spacious living space, tiny but cute bedroom. Sleeping is good, we found it quiet, and the beds are comfy. There's a supermarket and a bakery at 5 minutes' walk, and a tram stop at the doorstep. It was such a relief that there's always more than one free parking space at the public parking around the building, and it's free of charge. The Wi-Fi is excellent. Every neighbour we met was very kind and polite, with big smiles on their faces. I should mention, you can tell the apartment has not been thoroughly refurbished in years, some of the furniture is slightly worn out, but it's freshly painted and clean throughout, and the bathtub is new, so it's perfect value for the money we paid. It was excellent choice for the three of us for a short stay, but for a single person or a couple, I'd even recommend it for a longer stay.

We liked the cleanliness of the apartment, we liked that there was an elevator, that there was parking, that the apartment was quite spacious, there were all the necessary things for living, a washing machine, a wonderful kitchen, and dishes. We are very pleased!

There was free parking and a tram stop outside the building, so travelling to the centre of Tours was easy. The apartment was clean and well-equipped.

United StatesThe WiFi and TV never worked and there were no bath towels left out for a shower. It is summer and a fan in bedroom would have been appreciated.
The apartment was clean and modern with all facilities. It even had a bathtub and washing machine. The kitchen was spacious and had large fridge/freezer a real plus. There was free parking outside building.
