Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

This apartment was perfect for our stay in Nice, it was spotlessly clean and had all the ameneties we could need, including complimentary gifts on arrival :-) it really felt like a home from home, as soon as we arrived. The apartment is centrally located in the old area of Nice, making it easy to explore what the old town had to offer along with the beach and surrounding areas. It is around a 25 minute walk to the main train station (Nice-Ville), or 15 minute tram ride, allowing us to explore the stunning surrounding areas, including Antibes, Cannes, Villefranche-Sur-Mer, Monaco and Menton, all within a 35 minute train journey. Matt, the host, was really friendly and helpful, offering plenty of tips and suggestions for the area and made us feel really welcome, even checking in with us during our stay. We will definately be booking again next time we come to Nice.

AustraliaThis accommodation was perfect for what we wanted. We stayed two nights. All of the information that Matt supplied prior to check in was very detailed and gave us lots of information about things to do, places to see and food to try. We would definitely stay there again.

United KingdomWe loved the place but caution anyone with stair challenges that it is a bit of a climb, especially the second floor steps are very high. It is in the heart of the old town which is a busy entertainment area so if you have trouble sleeping with a bit of street noise it may also not be the best - we love that background buzz so we really loved it
At 198cm, one of the key selection criteria for us is a genuine extra large bed - sometimes this is difficult in France - This apartment lived up to its name of Spacious and Bright and the bed was excellent. The location in old town is fantastic as is the history of the apartment in an old Palace. Matt is an excellent communicator and his half bottle of Champagne he left for us did not disappoint

AustraliaPack light, our cases were far to big and heavy to carry up the 87 stairs. (well worth it once we got through the door into the apartment)
This apartment in the heart of Old Nice is absolutely beautiful. There was a bottle of champagne and chilled glasses to greet us on arrival. The location is brilliant with loads of recommendations to local eateries and markets. Our time in Nice was wonderful

United KingdomThe stairs to the apartment, all 87 of them but I knew it was good for me 😁
Everything...from the beautifully decorated and quirky apartment,to the lovely welcome gifts of champagne, flowers and caudelie toiletries. This really is a very special place. So conveniently situated, close to so many restaurants and bars, not to mention the beach. The apartment was absolutely spotlessly clean with everything you might need.

RomaniaThe aparment was on the 3rd floor (as high as a regular 4th) but that couldn't be fixed and we knew this when we booked it.
As others have said the location is spot on, right in the center of the old town of Nice, next to all the great restaurants, trendy bars, markets and such (mere minutes away). Castle beach was very, very close, also Castle hill and Promenade des Englais. This was extremely convenient, especially with a young child and a tired wife. We parked a little further away at Sulzer (we reserved an underground parking space some time in advance as the old town of Nice is a nightmare to find street parking) because the other parking garages had a lot of bad reviews about thefts an such (we had no problem). There was no smell from the restaurants below even though all of them were functioning to maximum capacity and we left the windows open all day so perhaps from the time of the other reviews that complained about the fishy odors they have installed filters. The view from the windows was very nice and typical with Mediterranean roofs, Castle hill cascade and Old Nice streets and churches. Inside the apartment was very pleasant and comfortable, very well equipped for cooking and living in it so we felt just like home. The only problem with it that doesn't detract from the maximum rating is that it was on a 3rd floor which due to the very high ground floor was almost a 4th. This was very "interesting" to say the least if you forgot to buy something or you had to carry beach gear every day. If you have a mobility problem or need to carry heavy stuff up and down better think twice. For us it was a drawback we were OK with as all the other pros of the apartment were so overwhelming. We just took a shower or sat under the AC until we cooled off and were done with it. The hosts were very communicative and nice but we aren't very demanding or choosy and we didn't have nothing to complain about so they didn't have their hands full with us. All in all a very, very nice apartment that enabled us to have beautiful memories on our family's vacation.

AustraliaThere was nothing to dislike about the apartment. The apartment is up 4 flights of very steep stairs, which may be an issue to some. I AM A 65 year old woman with a knee injury and I found them manageable with a few stop starts. Don’t let that prevent you from staying there as you will certainly miss out on a gem.
Everything. The quirkiness of the decor was appealing along with the striking colour palette used in the apartment. The artwork was stunning. I Loved looking out the windows onto the beautiful colours on the sandstone walls and roof next door - stunning. The apartment was very well equipped with everything we could need. Coffee capsules were bonus along with the bottle of champagne. The neighbor hood of Vieux Nice was fantastic, with so many eateries abounding. The apartment was only minutes walking to the waters edge. Fantastic apartment. I wish it was mine permanently .

FranceThere was very little storage space in the apartment, it felt smaller than in the images (especially for 4 people), and it was a little too busily decorated for my taste, but these are minor problems. It was a nice place to stay.
Location was great, and for such a busy restaurant street the apartment was well sound isolated

Hong Kong- No air-conditioning , there is a cooling fan, but the heat exhaust is also inside the apartment , hence the cooling effect is limited. - Apartment is on the 4/F, with no lift - it is an older building both inside and outside , has the old world charm but at the same time, one need to adjust expectation , shower can be weak at times , plumbing is also an issue. - the staircase to the apartment can be dark , even though there is lights with sensor, sometimes the sensors does not work properly - restaurants downstairs opens till late given it was summer time, so there might be a bit of noise till around 12am. - generally clean apartment , but there is room to improve , like the electric kettle has a lot of scale residue, the floor was a bit dusty
Location is perfect , right in the middle of Nice Old Town . 5-10 min walking distance to market , beach and tons of restaurants around. - self check in works good . - location is easy to find , first time might take a bit of time to figure out the little alleys . - host prepared us a new complimentary toiletry set and also a bottle of wine in the fridge .

United StatesBiggest Issue: The bathroom was not properly cleaned. The lower outer portion of the toilette bowl was soiled with dried feces from a previous guest. The shower looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for quite some time, based on the grime buildup in the grout and around the fixtures. I hadn’t looked at either when I checked in and didn’t realize either issue until later. This was the 15th place I stayed at on a 30-day European trip, and I never thought to look that closely at the bathrooms cleanliness until this experience. I opted not to post the photos of the issues. Other minor things that weren’t really a problem, but should be noted: There weren’t any standard pillows (only large decorative pillows). No pillowcases either, so we used an extra fitted sheet to cover the decor pillows to sleep on them. The outside temperature during the day I stayed there was in the upper 80s/low 90s. It was very warm inside the flat when we arrived. Warmer than outside. The flat had a portable AC unit that could be wheeled around, but the hose to discharge the hot air was missing, so all of the hot air would just blow back into the flat if you used the unit. It wasn’t that big of an issue during the day, because we were outside exploring the town. At night the outside temp was cool, so we left the windows open. If you do this, just be sure to bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper, because noise from the street can get very loud and go until at least 3am (on a Sunday to Monday night/morning). Then the street cleanup crews start early, around 5am. They can be pretty loud too, especially when they move the garbage cans through the streets. Despite all of these minor issues (except the toilet) it was still a great time.
The flat was located in the perfect spot in the heart of old town Nice. Plenty of restaurants and shops are right near the entrance to the building. The beach is a few minutes walk away. The kitchen, living room and bedroom were very nice and clean. The kitchen was stocked with everything you would need to cook, although we didn’t. The beds (bedroom and pullout couch beds) were very comfortable. Shower water pressure was great and hot. We stayed for one night and parked our rental at the Corvesy lot, about 500 meters away. It cost 25 euros and I didn’t make a reservation in advance. We didn’t have any issues with theft or damage to our car at the lot overnight (like you might read in the online reviews). The owner, Matt, was great and quick to respond to any messages. I appreciate all of his help with the parking situation and local recommendations. Again, the location was phenomenal!
