The bathroom let the property down. We were led to believe there was free parking but it was not reserved for the hotel. There was parking on site if reserved but unfortunately it was full. Parking available in nearby car park at a reasonable price.

The location was perfect. The beautiful original features of the hotel, gently sweeping bannister of well worn and restored wood. The floors in the bedroom were stripped with original fitments to the window (withe additionof modern double glazing). It had the old fashioned sausage pillow to sleep on.if you want to stay in a place with character this is it.

The public areas are very tired and in need of a makeover. The room we had did not have a proper shower, just an attachment to the taps.

The hotel is centrally located and easy to find. There is a secure public underground carpark close by. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. There were plenty of towels & hot water.

Great location overlooking the river, the owner was very friendly and helpful when we needed to find alternative parking due to the city suspending parking outside the hotel at the time of our stay. Adequate breakfast. Lovely old character building. The bathroom in our room was clearly a work in progress, however everything worked and it was perfectly clean.

A fan might have helped manage temperatures in a big family room

This is an absolutely gorgeous hotel finished in an old fashioned way with numerous period features and antique furniture. The lower corridors are beautiful and tranquil and the staircase has a wooden bannister that is a show stopper. We stayed in a huge family room at the top with four beds. It was a bit hot but we were there during an exceptional heatwave, however adding a fan might have helped our stay. The bathroom was huge and cool and beds were fine (a first encounter with bolster pillows for our two teenage kids!). Lovely hotel in a lovely location - I do hope I can visit again.

Noise from the street but it is due to central location

I was worried to book the hotel room reading negative reviews. But it is 2 star hotel! And surely can compete with 3 star hotels. There was soap, shampoo and extra blanket with pillow. Staff is super nice and even parking was full, because we were with one motorbike, they let us park in front of the hotel. I loved the style of the hotel, interior was lovely, like stepping back in time. Room size is at least double of more modern hotels, the bed and "rolled" pillow are so comfy, it's impressive. The location is fantastic to get to the restaurants, and as we stayed Friday night, it was noisy outside, hearing people coming back from town centre. Perfect stay if you are planning to go to city centre

The worst thing was the bathroom. It has not been updated since the 70's ! It was clean but the shower in the bath did not even have a hook to hold the shower head onto the wall, so you could not stand under it. We were told on booking.com that we would get free parking. When. we arrived we were told it was full. Luckily the public parking was only 5 minutes walk away and only cost us €4 for the night.

Very nice location right by the river and within 5 minutes walk of all the restaurants and bars in the beautiful old town. . Lovely old building that is a bit shabby but full of character. Good welcome and comfortable bed. Double glazed windows so we did not hear the road.
