Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsStraight to the point, you get what you book. To find the entrance on a rainy evening was a bit difficult however once found exiting and returning was very easy. 24/7 receptionist available. Close to different subway stations. Perfect hotel if you only plan to sleep there and be out and about in the city the rest of the day

GermanyThere were no storage space in the room, six beds but only one chair and a small table. There were no controls for the air condition, but luckily the settings were reasonable giving 21 degrees in the room. The hotel was not close to a Metro station, and not in a central location. Arriving in the evening it was hard to find the hotel, no sign was visible from the street and the area was very dark. But there is a door in the fence with a button to contact the reception, if you find it they can open the door.
We had a family room with six beds and the room was very large and spacious. This was one of few reasonable priced hotels we could find with air condition, We visited Paris in August and it was very hot outside, so air condition was relly useful. (In winter I would probably not chose this hotel.) Breakfast was good. The area was very quiet.

United KingdomBear in mind this is a budget hotel in a cheap part of town and you get what you pay for. If you are aware of that, you will be fine. Local area is quite rundown but the hotel feels safe and secure. The bathroom was actually a wet room (shower is not enclosed) and we never got a remote control for the TV despite asking twice. The sink dripped and at times you could smell the plumbing. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room which we missed. However, we appreciated the quadruple room at an affordable price and had a fantastic holiday.
The staff were lovely. Unlimited (eat as much as you like) breakfast was much appreciated. Beds were very comfy and the shower was always hot, even when we had four showers in quick succession. Housekeeping brought us fresh towels every day. We paid for one lunch which was basic but delicious. We would have paid for an evening meal, but the restaurant is only open in the evenings if they have large groups in, so we resorted to McDonalds! This hotel is close to both Metro lines 3 and 9 which is highly convenient and in walking distance of Pere Lachaise cemetery. Local supermarket stays open late.

CanadaWe arrived at night and really didn’t know what we had gotten ourselves into it’s a strange set up in a run down area. But it turned out it was much better then we had originally thought. They also need to keep the rooms cooler or give you a lighter sheet. It was very hot each night.
The cost was fantastic. It was a bit far away from everything but we made it work as we were only there 2 nights.

GermanyThe breakfast. Had to eat the same stuff for three days. Not much variety. Would love to have different kind of cheese, as well as different kind of bread. Some vegetables could.also be useful. Would also prefer the milk used for the cereals to be a little warm. Cold.milm for cereals is a no go.
The beat thing I can say about this place is about the staff. So friendly and accommodating. Very helpful also. The second beat thing is the location. The nearest bus stop is about a minute walk away.

United KingdomThe beds were incredibly hard. Not the most comfortable night's sleep. But there is so much to see and do in Paris, we were tired, so we made do. The en-suite wet room was tricky for the children to deal with.
The room was spotless, bedding clean and fresh, plenty of clean towels. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a little issue with a curtain and the door key pad, but the staff dealt with both issues quickly and efficiently. Located close to a metro station for access to the sights. Lots of shops and eateries nearby.

CyprusThe top bunk bed was hard to get out of because the place where the steps was had not got lowered rails. It also creaked a bit.
Great location for us. Close to 2 metro stops.. As it is near a residential neighborhood the local shops are good value.. The beds were comfortable. We had 3 single beds for 3 people which is what we wanted and was difficult to find in other hotels. The staff were friendly and kind. The walls are thick and we heard nothing from any neighbours. The room was very clean.

United KingdomThis is basically accommodation for a sports centre. Perfectly fine, but it's got that smelly socks hostel vibe. Also a bit of an issue getting in again after 20.00 when the main entrance is locked. Took a few frantic conversations on a buzzer. All okay, but not what you want at the end of a long day.
Okay for one night. Nice staff.

MalaysiaIt's a bit dated and needs updating. The room was very basic and there was an unpleasant smell at times. The toilet is a wet type and the shower was not great.
The room was spacious and good size. It is within walking distance to the tram line T3b and two Metro stations. The bus stop for route 57 is literally just in front of the property. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

DenmarkThe bathroom was nice, but the floor was broken and uneven. The aircondition was effective - but could not be adjusted. Their system was not working.
