Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Great place for a stop off on our long journey. Good location and the room and facilities were great. The host was very helpful and let us store our bikes in the courtyard, the beds were very comfortable and breakfast was great. It was nice to see all the Nepalese furnishings and crockery. It was the ideal place for us and only a short walk into the heart of the city.

GermanyThe host and her family were really kind and nice. Maybe it could be not easy to find in front of the hotel, but in 5 Minutes walk you can find the free parking place near the house. The room condition was really nice, especially bathroom. The bed was also spacious for our family.

GermanyNeighborhood seems deserted, it takes like a 10 min walk to get to an inhabited part of town.
Charming house and personnel, also a nice breakfast. It has a cozy inner yard where we had some great time watching nature and some cats. My room was also very comfortable, with huge windows and comfy bed.

United KingdomTo be really picky there was a kitchenette (which we used to cook dinner and toast for breakfast) but we couldn't find a tea towel and there wasn't a drainer so drying the freshly washed crockery was a challenge. However, I'm sure if I'd called Jangmi she would have provided these so it's only a minor point. Also, the fridge compressor was very quiet but as it was turning itself on/off and quite close to the beds, it woke me a few times in the night but if you don't have any food with you that needs cooling you wouldn't need to turn it on anyway!
You could not wish for a more accommodating host. Jangmi was very helpful and friendly. We only stayed for one night but found the location was convenient with plenty of free on street parking in the area. The secure private entry was a boon (when you're back and forth to your car etc). It's close to the centre and the local bakery and friendly well stocked mini supermarket are also easily walkable in a few minutes. The room (we had the ground floor room) was light and airy with huge windows overlooking the small garden and it was lovely to sit in the garden with a glass of wine and relax for a little while in the evening. Jangmi also kindly invited us to join a family barbecue which we declined as we'd already eaten but it was appreciated. She also gave me a couple of wine glasses and corkscrew when I mentioned I would be buying a bottle of wine that evening. The bathroom was compact but ok and the shower was large and worked very well. I cannot comment on the breakfast offered as we'd already bought something ourselves. We left quite early and, being a guesthouse, meant we just closed the door and left with a brief wave rather than a hotel type check out process.

SwitzerlandAn absolute dream location in Reims, the hosts are incredibly kind and helpful (we were late for the checkout and they could still accommodate, sorry again) the house is beautiful and the room was also perfect and much bigger than expected. Overall I'd recommend this place for any stay in Reims, especially if you are looking for a quieter neighbourhood that is still very close to the city center.

MoldovaWalls are super thin, so we could hear our neighbours’ every move. The location isn’t ideal, but not too bad either. Tram is close and the city center is 20-25 minutes on foot.
Guest house is quite nice. The owner has been super friendly and helpful; there’s a charming inside yard. The room wasn’t small. There are blinds on the windows which was awesome. It took us around 20 minutes to walk to the cathedral. Tram is 5-8 minutes away.

United KingdomIf you want to sightsee in Reims by walking from here be aware that it is a bit of a distance to the cathedral. It's perfectly fine if you are a regular walker tourist, but it may be too distant for some. We did it, even though it was a very hot day. Tip: the tunnel under the railtracks in the train station is a shortcut. The public walk-on fountains on the other side are great for cooling down, and make for a great playground for little kids.
We had a really nice overnight stay en route from Southern France to the UK. Communication with host about our late arrival time was excellent. What's so nice about the Sherpa Guest House is the personal Himalayan touch that permeates it. It feels like staying with a family rather than staying in a hotel. We did not take the breakfast but got pastries and quiches from the truly excellent boulangerie nearby.

United KingdomHaving to depart at the end of my holiday and head for the ferry :(
Just a few minutes from the shops and about twenty minutes walk from the city centre. Terrific hosts. A quiet neighbourhood. My motorbike sat outside the house, in the street, for two nights and remained untouched. Very good security. The room with a kitchen was perfect for our needs.
