The property was in the perfect location for exploring both the ancient and new city’s of Carcassonne, the garden backed onto the walled city and the view from the windows was spectacular. I couldn’t fault the property, tastefully decorated and furnished. Our hosts were so helpful and the pickup and drop off to the airport was an added bonus. Delphine even made us pancakes in the last morning, what a lovely couple. It was a magnificent trip, Would highly recommend this lovely apartment.

Can only re-iterate what other reviews have said. Superbly renovated apartment in an amazing historic building, with all home comforts and probably the best views of the medieval city. It was quite chilly outside when we were there, but the apartment was warm and cosy. The location is very convenient - walking distance to main attractions, restaurants nearby and a handy shop just downstairs ( fresh bread and croissants delivered to your door). Secure private parking. Fantastic hosts who are always available and do everything possible to make you feel welcome. If you come to Carcassonne there can be few, if any, better places to stay.

Everything was above our expectations.

The accommodation was second to none. The location and apartment are excellent. Delphine and Fred are most friendly and hospitable hosts. We really enjoyed our break in their expertly renovated and historic house. If you are going for a break to Carcassonne you will not find a better place to stay!

There was nothing I didn’t like

This was the most amazing studio apartment that I could have dreamed of. The location at the foot of La Cité was perfect and just a short 10 minute stroll to La Bastide. The studio was so beautifully and practically finished. The hosts, Fred and Delphine, have thought of absolutely everything! They are the most amazing kind and considerate hosts!!! The history in the building itself is amazing. I felt so privileged to stay there! If I could rate it higher than a 10 I definitely would!

The location, very clean, the hosts. Delphine and Fred are such lovely people. Left home baked cakes and crepes outside our room. Messaged back immediately whenever we needed anything. Transport to and from the airport very helpful. Had a fantastic time.

Delphine and Fred were exceptional hosts who made our short stay memorable , from initial booking through to leaving they really could not have done any more to add to our experience. The 15th Century property has lots of character and the rooms have been restored to a very high and thoughtful standard, with everything we needed. Cleanliness was immaculate. The location is close to the wonderful attractions that Carcassonne has too offer but feels more local than touristy which we personally prefer. The medieval city is a short walk of around 15 minutes to one of the main entrances, less if you take the short cuts which are steep but fine for many. Central Carcassonne is a similar distance over a stone pedestrian bridge and whilst we only visited briefly it did look to have plenty to keep you busy for a few days. We would certainly look to visit again in the future and use this as a base to explore further afield.

The property was in a great location just below the castle wall with easy access to all attractions. It’s a very comfy Studio with a really high standard of decoration and cleanliness. The owners were friendly and really made our stay, making us feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble, they were available to give us information when required and very kindly showed us round the amazing building they are restoring.

Location-it’s just a few minutes walk to the citadel/old Town. Beauty-Carcassone is a medieval place rich in history. Service- I would say it’s a 5star kind of service extended to us. Since, we came from Avignon, Fred picked us up at the train station and drove us again to the station on our way to Lourdes. Cleanliness-the unit where we stayed is immaculately clean.

Sorry to be all gushy, but, this is the most wonderful accommodation I have ever had the privilege of staying at, and I have stayed at a lot over the years. I am already wondering when we can go back. The building the apartment is set within is stunning, with so many period features; thick stone walls, sweeping stone staircases and large wooden doors. The old is lovingly and expertly renovated by Fred and Delphine with the new, so you get the benefit of staying in a historic setting with all the modern conveniences you could ever want and need. This really is a home from home. Sandwiched between the Cite and the new town it is the perfect base to explore Carcassonne. The building is situated on what I consider the best location in Carcassonne. Surrounded by some small but excellent restaurants, bars, and a few shops. It has a nice relaxed buzz away from the touristy Cite but still offering that old world charm and a more authentic feel. What made our stay even more magical was the hospitality of our hosts. Fred and Delphine are wonderful hosts and nothing was too much trouble. From their courteous lifts to and from the airport, to local recommendations, and gifting us with a delicious homemade apricot pie! It was a pleasure to have met such nice people who genuinely care that their guests have the best stay. I could go on and list all the wonderful details that made this such a fabulous place to enjoy Carcassonne from, but I won’t. You simply need to go yourself and see.

From booking it and reading about this accommodation my partner and I were very excited to stay here on our trip to Carcassonne. And it did not disappoint. From our initial meeting of Fred and Delphine they were the most amazing hosts. Being collected from the airport to the accommodation while getting some sightseeing on the way was an added bonus. The apartment was absolutely spotless, very comfortable with everything we needed facilities wise. The building itself is a beautiful old style building hundreds of years old that has been turned into a very comfortable, modern but charming stay. We had everything at our doorstep from fresh croissants in the morning from the local shop next door to little treats that were given to us from Delphine and Fred. The location was perfect for us being on the foothills of the medieval castle and only a 10 minutes walk into the town also. The area was lovely with great little bars and restaurants on the door step. Credit to the owners on turning this beautiful building into a fantastic accommodation to stay at. Highly recommended for us and we will definitely be back.

They are presently renovating other rooms and know they will be tastefully upgraded to reflect the character of the building. We felt we were living in a castle. Highly recommended. Plenty of eateries on the street below and 5 minutes walk to the Cite which also has plenty to choose from. Mini market next door for day to day items, and Truffle Wine bar across the road. We stayed in the 1 bedroomed apartment with comfortable bed, brilliant shower room and updated well equipped kitchen and eating area. WiFi and Bluetooth Hi fi system.
