Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandSize of rooms: 17 m2 means the room is very small. Don’t believe a room can fit 3 people. No. We had to ask for and pay another room because, with our 17 year old son, we got a Japanese futon bed (ie. a thin mattress on the floor, in front of three door of the terrasse), installed in a small double room. TV: I never missed a TV set before in any hotel, but now it was different because of euro 24. And there was no TV set in the room. In none of them. What more, no TV set in any common area in the hotel, none in the bar or restaurant. Cleanliness: could be better. Price: seriously overpriced hotel.
Place: not a busy area, at the S1 bus terminal that takes you to the old town in 15 min. Parking: we had no issues with the parking in the street, which was free.

AustraliaNothing except better design of the terrasse.
It’s a Mob Hotel, so the rooms are small & quirky. I’d no complaints, it was as I expected, but in addition on a warm day in Lyon it was really nice to have a balcony & to be able to open the room to fresh air. Breakfast was standard fare, nothing exciting, but fine. The terrace bar is mildly disappointing. It’s oddly laid out and not conducive really to anything but a semi-rave. Although I was only one of 4 people there when I went up for an aperitif pre heading out to dinner I was given a plastic glass…. Although somewhat out of the centre, the tram is regular and quick into town.

GermanyThe room was small, which I'm totally fine with if it's designed well (I'm a huge fan of Citizen M's tiny rooms). There was no place for a suitcase (or even a backpack) except on the tiny desk. No nightstands. The lighting was almost non-existent at the desk and the bathroom was under lit. The worst bit was the noise from the neighboring doors closing super loudly, especially when housekeeping starts cleaning. I'm glad I was only here two nights and only had a backpack or the room would have been a challenge.
Near the T1 tram line and Museum de Confluence. Modern, clean, and funky vibe. Great staff. Restaurant was efficient and had good food. AC was nice and cold! Bed was really comfortable. Price was reasonable. I would stay here again, but anyone besides a solo traveler might struggle with the rooms.

United KingdomThe location is a bit further away from the city centre than you might expect looking at a map. The restaurant was okay, it basically only serves pizzas. I didn't think mine was fantastic.
The room was nice and had a balcony which was good. The location made for a nice place to start a walk from along the river.

Netherlands-lEverything was fine. Maybe a small hick-up was that I had forgotten my credit card to use for the guaranty but the receptionist said credit card snd bank card were the same. I was not sure but gave my card and my card was declined twice until the manager clarified for them that my card was not a credit card. I fid not like this confusion. This was not a big issue at all and they were hospitable. Just that such confusions are not really something I want my time wasted on.
- The room had enough space and was quiet and comfortable. The staff are helpful - Not close to the city center but tram and train are not too far

GermanyNot a lot of other eating options nearby. We went without dinner, because the restaurant was no longer serving meals. Breakfast was expensive but good.
Nice atmosphere. An hour walk into Lyon old town along the rivers was very enjoyable. After 7 pm there was free uncovered but controlled parking nearby.

PortugalSome of the design and architecture solutions look great but lack some practical functionality. E.g. the shelf instead of the bedside tables looks very good, but it isn’t as easy to use as a bedside table… small things that become interesting architectural explorations on themselves
It’s an interesting venue to see different architectural styles

Czech RepublicThe bed design is cumbersome and the sharp edges around the mattress hurt me more than once. A table inside would be welcome since I ended up using the balcony table indoors
The design of the hotel was very unique, and every room having a balcony was a great touch. Great views of the museum and river.

ItalyMy room was really basic, "no TV in the room" policy it's probably excessive (I did not check this before booking, so it was a surprise, I'd say that probably 99% of the hotel I stay have TV in the room). Very tiny space between bed and walls, no wardrobe (hanging your clothes on the wall is not really great) and the desk space is extremely tiny and dark (for me it was impossible to work there).
Good position to reach city center, I used free parking slots near the hotel, I had no issues to find a spot and car was not damaged. The hotel has a unique atmosphere, it's probably more suitable for younger people, but its environmental friendly culture is absolutely admirable. My room had a small balcony which I guess on a sunny day can be a pleasant space to relax.

FranceBreakfast is too expensive. There is not enough choice. Definitely not worth the price per person. It would have been great to have a water boiler with tea or coffee in the room.
Comfortable room, full of light and with the right surface to be at ease. There is no TV in the room, awesome for resting.

BelgiumNot a problem if you do not mind commuting for tourism, but the hotel is a bit external to the main attractions, apart from the Confluence Museum just next door. I found it easiest to rent a Velo'V bike at a station just 100 m away and made use of Lyon's excellent cycling infrastructure , but tram 1 is not far either. Did not try the breakfast for 19 euros, I found it a bit expensive (although perhaps worth the price). I preferred to drop by a boulangerie on my way cycling into town.
Perfect for a one night stay. The hotel has some cosy-looking common areas (library, restaurant) I regret not having been able to try. The concept of the reception being in the middle of a shop where they sell own-brand products was stimulating. Room design was innovative, making the little space feel comfortable. No TV in the room is part of the hotel's philosophy, but you get your own WI-FI router! Upon arrival I asked for a quiet room on the other side from the railway and got it with no fuss, with panorama on the Euronews TV Channel building and a bit of the Saône river.

FranceThe mattress for us was bad, like, really bad, we woke up with our backs sore. And the restaurant is not worth it, too expensive and the service was lacking. Had to wait 5 minutes before getting seats while they were doing god knows what behind the bar ( take care of the customer in front of you first is a basic hospitality rule). We got our food but no cutlery and no water had to ask for that, and after finishing the main dishes, nobody came for like 10 min had to stop a waiter to get desserts. Not a good experience. Lyon has a lot of better and cheaper restaurants.
The location, atmosphere and the decor.

RomaniaWe would like to have at least 1 out of the 2 rooms ready for an early checkin. We asked since we had very early flight and the kids were sleepy. The room was noisy, from the trains. Also choose the place hoping for nice view of fireworks on NYE, but was nothing. The restaurant had limitation on the menu (not kids friendly), but next day we could order pizza for them and it was good
Nice location, appreciate the restaurant look, the place in front the fireplace. Did not experience the breakfast since it seems too expensive, but have a coffee and a croissant one day.
