Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomArea behind the Gare du Nord is quite downmarket after dark, though we did not get hassled by anyone.
Excellent hotel for the money. Room with en suite facilities and Elevator. Crucially, it was quiet at night with the double glazed windows closed. Rooms cleaned every day. Staff very friendly and helpful. Full concierge service giving security. Ten minute walk from Gare du Nord and just across the road for metro station to central Paris. I could not fault this hotel.

IndonesiaThe whole hotel was in a state of disrepair. When I checked into my room there was no soap and the toilet roll was almost empty. Outside my window was scaffolding which was unsightly and the tarp and plastic sheets were so noisy during the night when it was windy. Next door to me were two females who seemed to be nocturnal. Every night they would make noise, talk and laugh from about 12:00 until 05:00 or 06:00 am with no consideration for other guests
The staff were nice, the cleaning lady seemed to come in every day to clean

United KingdomOpposite a building site that started work at 8am (and apartment block being redeveloped .. obviously been going on for MONTHS & probably a few more months). And refurbishment going in INSIDE the hotel ..so dodge the hanging cables...and bare stairs! Also, sink plug didn't work, so careful you don't overflow the sink!
Location (10 minutes walk from Gare du Nord) and a 1 minute walk from another Metro station... couldn't be better

MexicoIt might be quite loud as it's super close to the metro railway and there's always some remodeling going on.
The staff was nice, friendly and helpful. There was a fridge to store our snacks. The lift was compact but very useful. There is a baggage storing area.

IrelandThe staff team is very helpful and they provide a great support. I have seen they are improving the hotel's infrastructure and they were helpful enough to advise and provide a great hand while staying in Paris. I would definitely recommend for staying there.

NigeriaInside looks great and well furnished, a sharp contrast to the outside and the very tiny elevator. The staff are perfect and there's no unnecessary hassle. Just get in there and enjoy your stay.

GermanyI would have preferred a duvet to a heavy blanket and sheet. One of the towels was dirty but it was the one for the floor anyway, so no bother. The area is quite rough and ready, so you need your wits about you.
I required a place to put my head for the night - no more, no less - and this place was just the ticket. I needed to get up very early to get the Eurostar from the Gare du Nord just 10 minutes away on foot, so it was ideally located. The mattress was comfy; the bathroom tiles were new but the cheapest kind. You can have a good sleep and get clean, but it's no spa experience. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The café on the corner (Le Capucin) was a nice place to go for breakfast. The metro station (La Chapelle, line 2) was 2 minutes away on foot.

BelgiumThe staff welcomes you very kindly and warmly. Incredibly helpful in getting you directions to major attractions in Paris. Although the hotel has its history in this part of town, the room is very clean and tidy. Breakfast waits just around the corner in a charming local cafe. The hotel is in a very accessible location. Parking North close by. Only a ten minute walk. The metro No. 2, 2 minutes steps from the hotel, takes you immediately to the Arc de Triomphe.

BelgiumThe bedsheet had A LOT of hair (head & body hair) from previous customers, that were stuck in the cloth ; I found it disgusting. I've never seen anything like this. The bedsheet might have been washed, but didn't smell clean. The hotel generally is in a pretty poor state, that even includes that I spent time ringing the bell without any result... until I noticed a switch that was the actual bell. Nothing indicates where you should push to call for somebody to enter the hotel.
